 Halloween is one of the United States biggest holidays of the year and is celebrated on October 31.The word Halloween means All Hallows Eve which is a catholic holiday for christian saints since the early mid ages on November 1st.  Some of the earliest customs grew out of All Saints Day which is November 1st, a day to pray for the saints and martyrs and All Souls Day which is November 2, a day to pray for all souls of the dead. Souling, which can be dated back to the Mid Evil Period and consisted of door to door knocking praying for the dead in exchange for treats.

Trick or Treating has been a custom for children for a long time. For most children Trick or Treating is nothing more then dressing up in costumes and going door too door to get a life time supply of candy.For some adults Halloween is one of those dreaded nights hoping you dont awake to anything more then candy wrapperson your property.Halloween is a prime night to vandals. Cars or trucks parked in areas not well lit can be a target. Bikes are also stolen more often on Halloween. Common things vanelers use are shaving cream, eggs, toilet paper and silly string. Eggs are the most dangerous on a vehicle as it can damage the pain. Teenagers often take baseball bats to peoples side view mirrors as they are driving around. Teenagers also often place sharp objects around tires so the owner will get a flat and can also place sugar, water and sand in your gas tank.

To ensure the saftey of your vehicle, make sure it is locked up and place it in a garage if you are able too. If you do not have a garage it is best to park your vehicle in a drive way closest to your house in a well lit area, most vandles will not attemp damage to your vehicle and risk someone seeing them. If your vehicle has an alarm make sure it is locked and ready. Take all your childrens bikes and toys inside. Do not do anything that would attract attention to your car. halloween isnt the time to dress up your vehicle. The advice is common sence but most people get caught up with giving out candy and prepairing for parties they forget to take care of small details.
