FACE SKIN TYPES

Know your skin better!!

Our skin is divided into three layers. The outer layer, epidermis, the middle layer dermis and subcutaneous fat, the third and the inner most layer.

Epidermis, the outer most layer of our skin keeps generating new cells, as 40000 cells approximately are lost every minute.Epidermis has melanin which gives color to our skin. More the melanin in our skin ,the darker is our complexion. Melanin is protects and help our skin from sunburns and harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun, hence protects our skin from skin cancer .Dermis, the second layer lies below epidermis. It serves an important function in the protective and perceptive role that skin plays. It performs many functions, as it consist of nerves ending, vascular supplies and glands (oil or sebaceous glands as well as sweat glands). We can perceive the touch sensation on our skin due to this layer. Vascularity to the skin initiates in dermis layer and hence aids in providing nourishment to the skin cells. Dermis layer contains sebaceous glands or oil gland, which keeps our skin lubricated and resist infection. Sweat glands maintains our body temperature and help our skin to breath and throw the toxins out of the skin; ,It also protects us from microorganism attack as it has antibacterial properties within itself.

The most important of all the layers is the subcutaneous fatty layer. It is a shock absorber in the body and it also helps to regulate heat and prevent it from getting transferred to the outer temperature. Moreover it holds the internal organs
Generally there are 3 Types of skins, but sometimes we have mixed skin type or have a very sensitive skin which needs a special care .The important thing is that it is really important to know your skin you type, so that right care could be taken for it ,to keep it glowing and also keep it away from any skin problems and skin diseases .
Normal skin is soft, smooth, velvety and have no flaky dead cells and no pores visible it has smooth texture. It is clear and free from blemishes with proper distribution of oil and moisture.
If our skin is dull and patchy, and has red and flaky skin around the eyes It is said to be the Dry skin. This skin type cause formation of fine lines on cheeks, under the eyes and corners of mouth. These generally happen when sebaceous glands do not supply ample nourishment and lubrication to the skin.So if proper care is not taken, the skin tends to lead to wrinkles on young skin even.
Oily or greasy skin is thick, dull in color and shiny in looks due to over secretions of oils through oil gland. It tends the skin to open pores and makes the skin sticky, which attracts dirt and dust, blocking the skin pores which are already exposed due to open pores .Problems like black head, white head, acne and other similar skin related problems arise in this type of skin.
Combination skin follows the the pattern of 'T',it's skin texture is the combination of two types ,some places are dry whereas some are oily. The oily skin is generally vertical to the nose ,that includes(nose, mouth and chin) and horizontal area is on the forehead or temple ,cheeks are comparatively dry to the other areas on the face .
Sensitive skin cannot bear any change in environmental conditions or any kind of allergies, which may happen due to bleaching, makeup, climatic condition and other external conditions.

Ways to know your shin type
:--
A simple method to know as to what kind of skin we have is as follows
When you wake up in the morning, the first thing to do is to wipe your face with a tissue paper .If you see oil on the tissue, it means you have greasy or oily skin. But If you see grease on the center part and the rest area is dry, then you have a combination skin. But if you have no grease on wiping your face then your skin is either dry or normal .To check, your skin is dry or normal.wash your face with non oily soap and tap water. If you get the feeling of stretch or tightness then you have dry skin otherwise you have normal skin. In case your skin gets allergies, rashes, itches or boils then presume it that your skin is supposed to be sensitive in nature.
Our face suffers three kinds of troubles in general
Disease that happens directly to skin due to the effect of external source.such as infection of skin(fungal infection)
Next may be due to systemic disorders and may cause serious problems like leprosy, psoriasis .
