How to Request a Hub
53Requesting a hub is a great way to not only help a fellow hubber get ideas for new hubs, but also to learn from someone you find interesting or knowledgeable. A hub request can open doors to expression and the sharing of knowledge for you, the hub author, and anyone else who may happen upon your request. A hub request can also help a new hubber acquaint themselves with the hub writing process, or draw a long lost hubber back into the swing of things. One great bonus to sending a hub request is that when you send the request, the hubber you have requested from receives a notification on their profile page, and if they have set the option up in their profile, they will also receive an email letting them know you have something you would like them to write!
Now think!
Choosing the Hubber
Right in line with the importance of hub request topic is the choice of who you're going to request the hub from. There are hundreds of very capable writers on Hubpages, some with specialized niches they cover, others with a wide range of knowledge, and yet others with the research ability to find all kinds of information you may need or want. For instance:
For information on dietary herbs, I'd go request a hub from Community Manager Maddie Ruud.
For obscure pagan information I'd ask.. myself.. or Relache.
To learn how to be sarcastic on every topic in the world, just try Shadesbreath!
Part of choosing a Hubber to direct your request toward is learning the community, so if you're lost on who to turn to, the Hubbers page is a good place to start, just click through profiles listed there, conveniently defaulting to list the Best hubbers first. The top Hubscore is a 100, and the folk who earn those scores are incredible writers with a wealth of experience and knowledge waiting for you to soak it up.

Crunch Time: Submitting the Request
Hubpages makes submitting a request to your favorite author so simple an untrained chimpanzee could do it!
Here are the steps:
- Go to the profile of the Hubber you've selected to make your request to.
- Click the link beneath their "about" section that says "Request a hub from [name]"
- On the next screen, fill out the request form with a suggested Hub title that describes your request briefly.
- Add relevant tags to clue the Hubber in on what direction you hope the Hub will take and give the Hubber ideas on specific things you'd like them to write about.
- Click "Submit your request."
- Wait, and keep watching that request for a response from the Hubber.
- Once the hub is written, check it out, read it through, and then leave a comment. ***It is very important, and polite, for you to comment and thank the hubber for answering your request!***
That's all there is to it. Now that you know how to do it, why not go and find a Hubber to request from, and learn something new?
