It is nearing the end of summer and now is the time to think about buying some tulip bulbs. You can buy bulbs at your local garden center or you can order them thought many of the mail order catalogs that come in the mail.

First you need some clean pots starting from 6 inch or larger. What you do if you want a 6 inch pot you would use 7 Tulip bulbs and if you want to have a larger pot like a 8 inch pot you would use 9 Tulip bulbs for that size pot. And if you want larger pots like a 10 inch bulb pot you would use between 12 to 15 bulbs in tht size pot. And all the pots must be drain well. Pots are filled up half way and the Tulips bulbs are set in place and carefully cover over with the remaining potting soil. After you are done with the filling of the pots next take a tag label and mark each pot with what kind of Tulips bulbs are in the pot. Mark down the variety and the color of the blooms. Depends on what you want to do with the tulips and the size you want and to how big of a pot you want. Next you need to get some potting soil like pro mix or what ever you want to use from your local garden center. Then you need to get a fertilizer to put on the pots something that is used for bulbs like bulb booster or bone meal.

The same procedures that are used for potted Tulips are used with cut tulips.

Cut Tulips are harvested with a slight color, a bit more color than pot Tulips.

Cut Tulips can be stored at 33 degrees F (0.6C). Some times when you are forcing tulips

for cutting by pulling the tulips plants including bulbs out of the soil before cutting the flowers.

Or you can just cut the flowers and you can enjoy watching them open.
