HubPages Is My Piggy Bank
For the love of writing
HubPages is my piggy bank. It’s like saving for the rainy days just like the ants do. I’m taking my time here and enjoying what I do. Writing in HubPages is the best thing that happened to me during my respite from tedious work overseas. I still do my other activities such as mingling with friends and tending animals in the farms, but HP opened a new opportunity for me online.
Slowly but surely
“What you sow, you reap.” This is true. With all the hubs that I’ve written, I am really seeing the fruits of the so-called successful hubbing. For my part, it is slowly but surely surfacing. With the help of reliable affiliates, like Amazon for referrals, and Google AdSense for contents and clicks, I am sure that in the next days to come, I will receive my first payout. I’m not in a hurry to receive it. Who knows? It will come in a lump sum amount.
The short and long journeys
Monetizing our hubs depend on topics we write. Financial matters and business articles are leading in the demographics of topics that HubPages offer. Original contents, especially sharing insights from personal experiences encourage readers and fellow hubbers to sympathize. Even home businesses are being promoted here at HP. By just creating series of hubs about it, I’m sure they are earning it’s worth. The review on the latest products in the market is also good. I’ve also read reviews and interviews of fellow hubbers. I’ve found out that HP hubbers ranges from Hub Wannabes to Hub Nuggets and the new one, HubPage Elite. Some even have several accounts in HP. I think it’s legal as long as you’re not violating the rules of this writing portal.
My hubs range from various topics, too. I didn’t stick much on the same category. Whatever I read, heard and see that needs documentation, I write it on HP. Although, it’s not generating fast money, it is better than scams that are proliferating in the net. We are not paying money on HP. It’s the other way around. HP, with the help of affiliates is the one giving us bonuses for our works as hubbers. It’s a different kind of networking. This virtual community really hit us to contribute more in a positive way, while waiting for the monetization result.
Prolific hubbers who hit the right topic and search words are the ones earning 500-1000 dollars and more. For a moderate hubber, like me, I just have to wait for my turn for my ‘fruits’ ripen. When my hubs are ready for the picking, then it’s my time to rejoice also. Waiting patiently will also give me my valuable revenue.
It's not all about money.
Who said HubPages is a scam? It’s not. We just have to wait for our turn to generate money.
Some hubbers are getting frustrated because they’re not earning their dues as early as possible. What can I do; I’m also thinking the same way. And yet, I continue to contribute in HP in my own little way. Although, the medium of writing is English language only, there are valuable stories that are still stored in my “vernacular bank of ideas.”
My HP piggy bank will have to be filled to the fullest so that I can harvest my dues. It can take months or even a year. As long as the door of HP is open, I will believe in the site’s agenda: contribute hubs in order to monetize your works.
This is a HubPages Challenge
Your competition is yourself. I may say we cannot detach from our own shadow. What you write will reflect on how dedicated you are in your endeavor as contributor in HubPages.
This is a huge previlege for my part to be doing one of my desires...writing. Write all you can in HubPages...this is what I challenge, first, for myself then dare others (in a good way) to contribute more helpful, insightful hubs. Not just picture hubs; it never occur in my mind, though, to succumbing to such scheme just to get high hub ratings.
As Rebecca E. wrote, sometimes, competition is bad. It's a business after all. In writing, there will always be a star...a supernova and an inspiration to others. HubPages star will surely influence others to contribute more deserving hubs that will enlighten fellow hubbers and interested readers. I will not name names because it's too self-serving. In time, I will also select and namedrop them as a form of praising and commending their works. Heroes on HubPages? This will be possible. Ops, I've already mentioned one person that I really admired.

Thanking other hubbers is very much appreciated. Without them, you will be alone in your own world. This scenario will not create traffic and followers. Being in Hubpages, it's like spreading your wings for other to notice you and at the same time, admire you, too. I may not be prolific at sugary words when I praise others, but I will not finish this hub without the help of this climactic declaration of dohn121: An introduction to HubPages with Snoopy and Woodstock. Snoopy and Woodstock? Why on Earth will an exceptional hubber include these two characters from Peanuts comic strips to signify friendship here on HubPages? Does it trancends HubPages motto to a higher level of writing spree?
An exceptional lady hubber who is often misidentified as male due to her avatar and HubPages alias, frogdropping, will attest to the realization that there are already 'stars' shining before I was born on Hubpages last August of 2009. Hubpages Help will be a different kind of HubPages directory to get you started in this writing portal.
With these examples made by my fellow hubbers. I will not beg anymore for alms filling my piggy bank with HubPages coins. The clinking sounds of those coins will not be a dream anymore. After all, those will be the fruits of my love on Hub writing.
