Get the Best Infant Boy Clothes for your Child
As a new parent, I realized that once my first child was here that I was a little bit over my head. I had no idea as to what to buy him for clothing let alone anything else. I just wish at the time that I would have had some sort of resource to depend on, so because of that, I have written this short little guide to help you pick clothes for your infant boy.
Everyone wants cute baby boy clothes for their baby boy, but there are a couple of things that you are going to want to keep in mind when it comes to shopping for your infant baby boy clothes.
Your Spending Limit
The last thing that you want to do is spend all of your money on clothes and forget the rest. You need to remember that there are other things that your little one will need (think diapers, bedding, etc.), so you shouldn't spend all of your money on clothes.
What we did was create a budget to figure out how much money that we would need for everything before we went shopping. The trick here is to sit down with your spouse (if you have one) to agree on a number that you will be spending and don't go over the budget.
Another thing to remember when it comes to the budget is that you don't need to spend all of the money at once. Bear in mind that chances are that your child will get some clothing for gifts as well, and since they grow rather quickly while being an infant, it doesn't make a lot of sense to spend all of your money at one time - save some for when they grow a little bigger.
How to Pick the Best Clothes
The one thing that I found when I went out shopping was that there were way too many clothes to pick from. In fact, I might even go as far as saying that there were more clothes to choose from than if you were an adult - yes the store we went to was that bad. The trick is not to be overwhelmed but instead make a short term goal to come home with at least a couple of outfits from your shopping trip.
The following are some considerations that you need to make to ensure that you come home with some clothes that actually fit your child (this year, not next - make sure you read this part guys ;) )
- Keep in mind that clothing sizes are going to differ from one manufacturer to another. Pay attention to how large the clothing appears to your eye rather than to what the tag says.
- Unless you have a premature baby, in most cases, newborn clothing will be too small and you should not bother buying any. This is because most babies are over their projected weight, and also because newborns outgrow their clothing at a rapid pace, so quickly in fact that you may not get to use some of them even once before they are too small.
- You should also think about the weather or climate when you are shopping for infant baby boy clothes. This is very important as you don't want your child to be too hot or cold and get sick.
Even though I can't give you a complete guide by any means, it should be a great start for new parents or someone out buying infant boy clothes for the first time. Just remember to get a gift receipt - you can always take that bad clothing choice back.
