Kevin Trudeau's "Free Money" is a current TV Infomercial hosted by Misha Dibono, who plays the role of the surprised average American when she hears what Kevin says. The 30 minute infomercial pitches a new book, "Free Money - They Don't Want You to Know About" by Bestselling author, Kevin Trudeau. Kevin claims Americans can get tens of millions of dollars in free money. Trudeau says there's 4,000 government, state and local programs that give away money to those who apply. Trudeau also claims there's 100,000 private sources of funds that go to US citizens. Apparently, 140 million Americans qualify for these funds. Kevin shows one bill from Congress that gives away about 800 billion dollars over the course of several years. Most people don't know about these funds, but if they apply apparently they can get "free money".
Trudeau claims the government makes this grant and other money available by way of various bills, but they don't necessarily advertise any of them. They use it politically to say they directed funds to this cause or that, make it public knowledge, and then move on to their next matter on the agenda. So consumer advocate Kevin has researched these various free sources of money to create his latest publication.
What Free Money is About
In Kevin Trudeau's book "Free Money - They Don't Want You to Know About", he
gives examples of some of the free funds that are available to the
average person. Examples include $9500 to help pay bills, $2800 to pay
heating costs and $1200 to help pay your mortgage. Other examples
include $800 to buy food, $170 a month for parking, and $3,000 if you
volunteer to work in your neighborhood. There's also $4800 to pay
"family expenses", $328 to help pay rent and amazingly, $1000 while
waiting for some of the other funds you applied for. And for free
services, Trudeau mentions there's free dental care, free eyeglasses,
free air travel, and free hotel rooms among others.
Kevin also
points out Matthew Lesko's series of books about free government money.
Lesko is the guy who wears those crazy, colorful suits with all the
question marks on his TV advertisements. Kevin stacks up most of
Lesko's books on the table such as "Free College & Training Money
for Women", "Free Money and Help for Women Entrepreneurs", "Free Legal
Help", and "American Benefits for Seniors" to illustrate how concise
his book is compared to all the ones Lesko's published. Trudeau says
applying for the funds is relatively simple, and his book gives you the
best of the information about the free funds you can apply for. Kevin
also says he applied for one of these techniques to receive $256 by
completing a simple online application, then did another and received
over $1500.
Another thing Trudeau discusses is "lost money".
These funds come from things such as deceased relatives, mortgages,
stocks or IRA's, bank accounts or paychecks. The amazing thing is 140
million people are eligible to apply for all these programs, but
usually only 20 million do so. Some of the funds come as quickly as 30
days.
The fine print at the bottom of the infomercial says
"Terms and amounts of the grants vary. Eligibility requirements apply".
It's listed on the infomercial at a price of $29.95 plus "S&P", and
includes free the "Debt Cures" book (a $30 value) and the "Easy $5K
Guide", which is about mostly home-based businesses. The Easy $5 K
Guide may be similar to the product Jeff Paul's Shortcuts to Internet Millions.
The "Free Money" product carries a 30 day money back guarantee
according to the advertisement. Kevin says if you haven't received at
least $500 in those 30 days you can return the book. Kevin Trudeau's
"Free Money" is sold through QSN Direct.

Consumer Complaints
While this information presented here is not intended to promote or
demote "Free Money", here have been documented complaints regarding Mr.
Trudeau's latest product. At this consumer affairs
website, more than a few people complain that they tried to order the
book "Free Money" and the customer service reps pushed more products on
them. These extra products included other books and newsletters. The
book supposedly costs $39.99 but once they saw their bill, they had
been charged over $93. One woman states the information presented in
the book is more for those people who are unemployed or on welfare,
rather than the average working person. Buyers beware if you call to
order this product from QSN Direct.
Kevin claims he doesn't make a cent off this product and is doing it
all as a "public service". He discusses the current dismal state of
the economy and says with people losing homes, jobs and their way of
life, this book can help them get money to help out. All that said,
the choice is really yours to save your hard earned $30 and apply it to bills, or to pay up and purchase Kevin Trudeau's Free Money.

I ordered two, of Kevin Trudeau's books and found them to be a rip off. I advise all contemplating ordering to rethink, it is a waste of your time and hard earned money.
Hmmm never heard of "Kevin Trudeau's book"
Most of those government grant programs have extremely low household income requirements and other strings attached. I went through the Lesko book at the library and didn't find one thing to help me. Then I went to the U.S. government site, where alot of that stuff comes from and couldn't find anything either. You can always contact your congressman and senator with questions about grant programs. They are there to help, and most have staffers that are very knowledgeable about programs. But you still have to qualify as to income.

Sigh, seems that it is another scam. I have not heard of Kevin but I have heard of similar "products" on the net. There might be real cases of "free money" waiting to be claimed, but I don't see why a simple Google search will not find them.
All I can say is wake up people didnt your mother ever tell you if it seems to good to be true it usually is...when someone makes you promises and is always trying to sell you something take some time to look up there history if they have tried to scam people in past what makes you think they arent trying to scam people now
I am sure the same info that is in that book is on the web if you know how to find it. It should be a matter of public record if the money really does exist.
I bought a book of his from a TV ad. Won't again! Salesperson went through a whole big rigamarole before I could even order it. Finally agreed to sign up for some newsletter that I could cancel - just to get my book. I was charged for the newsletter twice even after I canceled it in time.
He does have some good information. He also has a lot of scam and seems to be interested mainly in bucks, bucks! I learned the hard way.

well crap! I just fell into the "moron of the year desperate and hopeful for income brainwashed idiot" scam. I just called customer service to cancel and all I hear is,,,,"Im sorry but we can not pull up your record to cancel however you have 30 days to return the book. That stupid actress pretending to be a sceptical surprised normal person like me kind of did it. It's sad honest and hopeful people that belong back in the June Cleaver days get scamed by deliberate crooked liars. This world is sucky. Im a hairdresser and don't even sell products that don't work, I feel guilty! In a different infomercial Kevin Trudeau's "interviewers" are two Playboy models. I'm not sure how seriously anyone can take someone who thinks having Playboy models in the infomercial will help earn credibility. If it were one, viewers might be able to just assume she had ventured into broadcasting as a second career. Two? That's just kind of Hugh Heffner-like and not too "professional" for someone selling a book.
I too purchased Matthew Lesko's book some time ago and found the info to be untrue. I called several of the programs that I "fit the criteria for" and was told there was no such program. I even sent the organization I called a copy of the page from Matthew's book and was told that no program existed. There may be money out there but I didn't find it through Matthew's book.

I actually bought Kevins newest book, it arrived yesterday and when I opened it, thousands of dollars fell out of it. It was all monopoly money but I guess he made good on his word. Now I can buy play cars and pay my play bills with his wonderfull book. I love living in fantasyland. Thanks Kev.

You have to watch Kevin and the likes to learn how they market. These infomercials are running 7 days a week, multiple times a day so they must be making a buck(or more). Plus, this is his third hot subject in about a year, it started with health then debt and now grants. All hot subjects.
I have never ordered from him, but I tend to belive the the horror stories about the overcharges and think this stinks, borders on illegal. Never the less the infomercials keep coming and people keep buying. I'm confident that if toilet seats are a hot subject in the future he will jump on that too.

I saw an infomercial. He sat with two Playmates and said the gov is suing him for 70 million dollars, or some oulandish amount.
i just oredered it now, i think it will work. i dont know yet, but ill see , if not ,then ill just send it back and there we go i get my money back simple as that, even though it will take like a year to get back but ill still get it :)
I once took a course on this type of marketing. A perfect product is cheap to create (all of the resources are public domain), is a system or a secret (they don't want you to know), inexpensive to buy (he doesn't make anything off of the book), but has a hook (the book) that generates repeat income, (all of the addons).
by the way, here is site many states use to locate lost money
or go to your state treasury dept and search for the term lost money, I really do have 2 checks on the way and my wife has one. ( I found some at the address above (for Ohio) and the rest at WV's state treasury site.

I have purchased the Debt Cures book from Kevin and found it helpful with my credit reporting issues. I am a retired police chief and made a decent living while working in law enforcement. Although most infomercials ARE seemingly a scam, I have so far found Kevin's, however outlandish (with Playboy models - which seems bizarre) to be basically sincere. I have been a government employee for over 20 years and know that the government does things which MOST of America know nothing about. The choice is yours to purchase or not, but remember, all of the "extra" crap they try to sell you - all you have to do is say NO!

Guys, at least Kevin is selling a tangible book with some value to it. And he has hot T and A models on his shows. The biggest scam artists out there are Internet Tool Box, Buy Tax Lien Properties, any any foreclosure book which markets to unemployed/low income/bad credit saps. All of these clowns will try to sell you or Jedi Mind trick you weak fools into buying up to $1k of additional products.
Trudeua's newest book is similar to Keskos book. Kevins other books can be bought off of Amazon and in book stores.
I've seen three of Trudeau's informercials and in everyone he says the same thing in Debt Cures, Natural Cures and Free Money over and over; "Buy the book!" Too bad it was Billy Mays who passed away and not Trudeau.
I mean people just got to use common sense. If there is "free money" that you can get from the government then why is this guy trying to sell books to get money?
I go to the library, rent and read the books and don't pay for them. Screw ordering through the phone. I don't do that anymore. They want to sell you everything under the sun.

I had bought a many books in my time from different people on many different subjects. I feel this way, if you can get at least one item from a book that can help you in life it is worth it. I had bought a few of Kevin Trudeau's books and found some information important and some that does not help me at all. But look at it this way. Some of the information that I could not use, others could use it. But if I may give a suggestion to anyone wishing to buy books… Don’t do it on the phone as they will try to sell you the kitchen sink…You will be better off buying it online. I hope my insight helps some..

Some of Kevin's facts are true, but you better know that law for yourself.
$23+ for shipping 3 books. Not overnight for that price but 5-7 weeks! RIP OFF. Why 5-7 weeks? Will they wait with the printing a run of books until they get so many orders? This is a red flag right there. Too good to be true. If the value was really there, he should come out and say up front, $50 including shipping for the books.

I have 4 of Kevin's books and I find them easy to read and understand. I have lost 30lb by using the information in Natural Cures and the information about food and drugs is right on. The Debt Cures has helped me with Idenity Thift and other problems we have had, I have just ordered Free Money and can't wait to read it. Like any thing in to days world you can use information that you need and work it to your advangage or you can leve it alone. And every one has there own opinion about things but if you can't get what you want out of one of Kevins books it is not his fault he is just giving you some ways to help your self, you have to do the work. I think his books are grate and if you know what you are doing they will work for you to.

I got Lesko's book, and it gave me some information about grants I did not know and I worked on Capitol Hill. So Lesko's book was worth the free copy I have. MellissaTx made a good point though. Even I know nothing is free.
It's a scam. And when you send it back you only get half the money back because over 20 bucks of the price is shipping cost. There is nothing in the book. The part about the grants is just a link he gives you to a site that has all the grants. SCAM!
I almost bought the book from the tv ad kevin was advertising. But changed my mind because the ad said that the "Free Money" is $29.95 plus S&H with free "Debt Cure" book and "How to make $5k" book/pamphlet but I have to pay additional $11.95 S&H for the free books, I don't think so... If it is free it should be all the way free... Not partially free.. I'm glad I stumble upon this site and comments about the book I almost bought for a book full of headache. Thank You!!!
I can't believe you people!!! This whole thing plays upon the fact that people are suffering and need money. It plays on the idea that keeps the lottery running and makes you put your lost tooth under the pillow for the tooth fairy. If any of this stuff really worked, there would only be one weight control product, and everyone would be skinny. There would only be one weight loss machine and everyone would be fit. Buying a weight machine? Better measure it and make sure there's room in the garage for it, along with the other yard sale stuff. Don't order those dietary supplements from the South American Rainforest. They cut down the trees and plants so you can be more vibrant, then they charge you a huge shipping and handling fee, and ship you additional product, charging your account without your permission (woops.....remember when you clicked on "I agree"? ) You, of course read all those rules and regulations. How does it feel to get screwed twelve different ways by scoundrels selling you monkey piss in a pretty pill while absconding with all your personel information, and stuffing their "off shore" coffers with money furnished by the incredibly lame of brain. Kevin Trudeau's debt cures book I purchased and read it and it had some really helpful information in it, I have not heard much about his free money one yet but there are alot of similar books out like Matthew Lesko Free money books on accessing government business grants, loan money, free government money club, he lists tons of sites and resources too!

I have Kevin Trudeau's Weight Loss Cure - It's pretty bad.
It's an interesting read but would be impossible to follow. You have to be injected by some substance made from pregnant woman's urine. It's illegal in this country to prescribe it so you would have to fly out of this country to get a doctor to prescribe it.
The weight loss cure protocols would be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to follow... No microwaving, organic food only and about 20 other things difficult to maintain.
I saw an interview Kevin did with John Stossel on TV . Kevin tried to evade John's questions but John nailed him in a big fat lie. Kevin has been in trouble with the law before and has done prison time. I wouldn't trust him.
My guess is it's the same info you can get from Matthew Lesko packaged in a new wrapper. Save your money!

This is another ripoff by Trudeau. He tries to get you to buy other items when you order the book. The book is full of info found for free in other books and on the internet. It is junk. By the way, the free sites on gov. grants costs from $50 to $80 A MONTH to get the FREE info. It is a ripoff from start to finish. I got burned, should have known better.
My hubby bought the book...I read the thing from cover to cover and found nothing I didn't already know from searching the internet myself. The only good thing I have to say about the book is it could save some time. The book does list several websites you would spend some time looking for before you did find them. Not worth the money in my opinion.
The irony of it all is...Kevin Trudeau is just like all the people who buy any of his books--looking for the easy way out. He prays on the naive nature of unsuspecting people who just want simple answers to difficult questions. People need to realize there's always a simple answer, but the simple answers are free if you spend the time to look for them. You may learn things in his books that you didn't know, but that doesn't mean they are things you shouldn't have known or couldn't have learned without paying for them.

He plays the percentages game..If he only gets a one half percent of the people who view his infomercial to buy a single book..then he's probably making millions of dollars off that product. Also, anybody who tells you they work for free is a liar..Trust your gut..If it sounds to good to be true than it probably isn't!

Have read some comments from college students stating that the book did not help, and that they were unable to get any response from Kevin. This guy has supposedly sold 30 million books! PT Barnum said it best. "There's a sucker born every minute". People are quite fortunate if all they ever get taken for in life is about 30 bucks. I suspect that is not all they get hit up for as they go through this life. An acquaintance says he knows Trudeau and that he lives like a king. I'm surprised he didn't have to pay for that information.
Has anyone ever got there money back? Guarantee says if you cannot find $500.00 in 30 days you get your money back. So many bad reviews does make you leary of buying. Someone also said they only ordered the one book, got two free, but before it was over, their card was charged 90.00 some dollars. Right before you click on order, make sure you have nothing checked in real small print. That' where it says, future mailings, newsletters, bla bla. Ofcourse it's small print, they do not want you to know you just joined something and have monthly billings.

Kevin Trudeau is a rip off con man. He used to sell "medicine" and “cures”. He was order by the FDA to cease and desist. All he has left to pimp is books, and that’s only because you can’t legally take away someone’s right to write.
Kevin doesn't have one ounce of honesty. I did see him pick up a piece of paper on the sidewalk, so I thought maybe he did that as a public service, then I later found out is was a dollar bill. Why would you want to buy a book from this idiot? If you get burned once don't stick your hand back in the fire. I bought the health cures and found it useless. I bought it in a book store, but it was still some expensive toilet paper, about 20.00 worth. I'm glad I didn't buy it from my phone. It would have been 3 times that much. I wish people would wake up. He will come up with more after this, why would you think; well this may be worth throwing my money away. I feel very fortunate that God has made me so unlike the majority of the population on this planet at least in America; in that I know how to think for myself. I ordered Kevin's natural cures book in 2006 and I have really changed a lot since then. For one thing, most people don't want to change anything personally, yet they "wish" their life would change...CRAZY! I have lost 70 pounds since I first started doing some of the things Kevin mentions in his book. I have more energy...I now wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning..I've started my own business...my mind is a lot clearer. I think people are way too quick to judge others when they themselves have issues too. It's like people love to say: "at least I'm not like HIM".. I believe people can change..it is in our nature to grow...I believe God made us that way. I know it's possible because I have experienced it first-hand in my own life. I also believe the government is very corrupt and that they do a lot of things they don't want us to know about...and that included giving away free money. A lot of people live by sayings that were passed down from their ancesters..people who lived through the great depression and similar economic circumstances...people who had a poverty mind-set..and they will not take the time to use their own mind and creativity to come up with original thought. For the past three years I have been trying to help my family and friends by sharing some of the information I found in Kevin's book...but have been rejected and laughed at..as well as ignored. So I decided I would just keep doing the things that have been working so well for me and that maybe one day I will meet other like-minded...free-thinking...true individuals who I could have intelligent conversations with about health and wealth. I myself committed a felony when I was younger...but I am a totally different person now. I have repented for that...which means I changed my mind. I myself only want to help people know the truth. We have all been brainwashed into believing a whole grave full of LIES...I have been fortunate to read many good books since I woke up and began working on myself. One of those books is called The Trick to Money is Having Some by Stuart Wilde. And he talks about free money too. I know there is free money out there so for all of you who want to piggy-back on other people's comments without checking things out for yourself..I thank you because that just means there more health and wealth out there for people like myself who can see and hear the TRUTH.
I have noticed that whenever an article appears pointing out the fact that Trudeau is a scam artist and sociopath his trolls come out of the woodwork. I suspect many of his online defenders are paid. All of the comments seem scripted. Why would anyone take the word of a convicted fraudster who believes there is a plot to exterminate some segments of human society? Trudeau is insane and anyone who believes him is either incredibly gullible or just plain stupid.
I do actually know someone who rec'd a grant - of all things to study a flower that grows on the rocks near the ocean in Hawaii - so he goes every year on the Govt. dime to uh look at a flower - Most grants are only granted to "Groups" of researchers that have colleges backing them and submit thousands of pages of support research to get the money.

I can't speak of Trudeau's wealth books because I haven't purchased them but his Natural Cures books are both very informative and filled with truths. If you are a person who is open to "alternative or natural" medicine then you will find his books to be accurate. Sure, he is out to make money but who isn't??? I used several websites he mentioned in his books and as a result I have great products that acutually work. If you can't find good practical health tips and great products in his two books on Natural Cures then you either can't read or have been to damn lazy to follow through! If his book on Debt Cures & Free Money are like his health books than it might be worth it but I again I can't say.
I ordered this book on a Friday night. Come to find out shipping and handling was $23.90, almost as much as the book. On Monday i tried to cancel my order and the girl said it was processing already. When I ordered the book the woman told me it would be shipped in 3-5 weeks. When the package arrived, i did not even open it, i just wrote "Return to Sender". I was informed if they receive the book with in 30 days, I will get $29.95 back only. I think the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General and whoever should be contacted on these thieves!

One piece of info in Debt Cures made the book price MORE than worthwhile. As an average American who has lived through the LAST governent FUBAR'ed econimic crisis and had to file bankruptcy as a result, man! that's HARSH!, well knowing that my credit is NO LONGER piggybacked onto my husband's is worth the book price.
Women - get out there and get your own credit. DO NOT depend on your husband's any longer - good or bad you are not counted on his anymore.
Parents - you need to know this too. Only the first authorized person on an account counts anymore, so don't think you can help your kids out this way - get them educated on good credit and why.

I have watched several of Kevin Trudeau's infomercials. In some of them, the panel is supposedly receiving a telephone call from a customer wanting to give a testimonial. Since the show is taped, it is impossible that a legitimate customer could have been calling in at that moment. That type of obvious deception has turned me off on buying anything from him.

The MegaMemory course actually was good. There was some good info in Debt cures for people that didn't know any better, and as another said, if you learned one thing you honestly didn't know it is worth the cost. But bashing Lesko? PLEASE. The reason the books are so big is it's a REFERENCE book. Lesko himself said on an audio cd you can find it too if you look hard enough, and find things that aren't even in his book. Lesko is goofy but is legit. This is like government grant 101 or maybe college prep. The other stuff Trudeau sells are total rip-offs. Yeah, wait and get it in a bookstore, paperback. Another bit of free advice: If you are even thinking of starting ANY type of business or non-profit, ask your city council or county commission (or local Chamber of Commerce) about courses on securing government contracts. I'm going to one next Friday.
These books and others like it are a waste of money when most if not all information in them isn't helpful or just not helpful to YOU. However, it's still worth checking out just in case there is something that will work for you. Fortunately, most of Trudeau's books, as well as, other, similar books from authors such as Lesko, are available at your local library (if not they can order them for you). I purchased Kevin's Free Money book and found it completely useless!! It is a SCAM!! Not only could a child have wrote it and there would have been more truth to it, but all the sites he list expect you to pay out more money! He specifically said on his commercial that they wouldn't do that. Therefore he LIED! Then the shipping is so expensive it is almost the cost of the book! Then when you call the company to get the refund you were promised, you are treated very poorly! The customer service people and their MANAGEMENT is extremely rude, not helpful and even hangs up on you! I was very polite, yet I wanted answers and the manager hung up on me when I asked my questions! I was shocked at such vile behavior!! Please, take it from me and DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! NO! kevin didn't give me an specific cure but i did learn from him, what is the cause of disease and started detoxing my body from cigarettes, fast food and just a few thing that made sence to me, and guess what? my hair grew back, not only that,i stoped catching a flu so easy like before, i only been sick once in the past year and a half.

He is a straight up guy that tells it to you direct. He has been supported and has appeared on many reputable programs (NBC, FOX, Good Morning America etc..)

I just got through reading Natural Cures and found all the info,. about where to find products very helpful. My mom has ALS and the things in this book line up with other info. out there by diffeent authors plus helps you find the products. This info. has been a miracle in helping improve my moms condition. Weed through the goverment rant and get to the meat of the book about chpt.6. Don't knock it until you put his advice to work.

I recently did extensive research on grants and believe me when I tell you they are few and far between and mostly for very specific purposes--mostly research and there are NO federal grants for people to pay bills etc. There is no such thing as 'free' money. i purchased kevins book and about 20 minutes later i realized i made a horrible mistake they gave me the run a round about how i couldnt cancel because i wasnt in the system i told them i was going to report this as fraud that i should be able to cancel anytime within the 30 days whether it was 30 days or 2 minutes then i went on to say that i know they will still charge me for shipping and handling i guess they got kind of nervous because they gave me a special code to tell customer service when i cancel so i wont be charged shipping and handling the code numbers is 624 beware of this guy when they tell you you can cancel anytime within 30 days and they give you the run around when you try to cancel you have been scammed hopefully that code works i will founf out good luck everyone
I am on the fence about purchasing Free Money, so I thought it would be beneficial to read testimonies and opinions of others. I previously purchased, "Natural Cures...," and the information was extremely informative and life saving. I followed his advise regarding organic food consumption and lost weight. Although I have successfully lost 80+ pounds, I would give all the praises to, "Natural Cures." I am an organic consumer, but I working out and utilizing portion control are huge factors in weight lose. However, consuming organic foods helps one refrain from HFCS and MSG.

I've used Kevins book Natural Cures to great advantage. I dont care that hes a sleazy salesperson type. That Natural Cures book offered me great information that I still use today. It was accurate, informative, practical, easy to read and very useful in my everyday life.
The Free Money book is not for me. I realize its targeted for lower income people, in general, to take advantage of gov't programs. However, there is some other information my friend used to find lost money he had forgotten all about. It showed up on one of the websites in his particular state.
Bottom line is YES, he does this to make $$$. To establish some integrity, he should disclose who can benefit from this book and not pretend its a panacea for all. But, thats what shameless salespeople do.

If you sell a good, well thought out product, you do not need scams and hoaxes to promote it. The word of mouth is the most powerful (especially these days) seller, or critic of products. Kevin Trudeau is a modern day snake oil salesman. I was taken in by him with "Natural Cures", not a bad book, but the following rip-off caused me to have to go to the offices in Des Plains Il to stop it. Boy, were they surprised when I fould their offices hidden amongst those wharehoues. Seek out these scam artists and stop them.
I only have this to say - I saw Kevin's infomercial, one day during the summer. I said, "what the He@@." I went to the site for "lost money". Lo and behold my father's name was listed there. My father died 10 years ago. I put in my claim with the state of Texas. The state not only contacted me by email but sent me a letter requesting information from me. On November 5, 2009 I received a check for $1124.36. This check was $300.00 larger than I was told it would be.
Thanks to Kevin's advice I now have funds to cover my finances through the holiday season.
