Is your God real or did you make him up?
Is your God real or did you make him up?
Do you follow the Word of God or just the part that fits your lifestyle or your sins? That way you can say I believe in God but I can still do what ever you want. If so your God does NOT exist you made him/her up. Idolatry is usually defined as worship of any idea, cult image or object as opposed to the worship of the One True God and his Word. It is considered a sin to Christians, but some so-called "Christians" break this Commandment daily. We see and hear this everyday "God is Love and he loves just as I am", "I don't have to change" We are born with a tendency to rebel against God, with hearts that are prone to idolatry, pride, sexual immorality, lust and other evils (Matthew 15:19). Though each of us has weaknesses toward particular sins, God still expects us to resist temptations in those areas and rely on his power for strength to keep sin from ruling us, and follow his word, not become complacent in our sins and build a God to accommodate them(Genesis 4:7, Romans 6:11-14). We are seeing this more and more look at "New Age which is a decentralized Western social and spiritual movement that seeks "Universal Truth" and the attainment of the highest individual human potential. It combines aspects of cosmology, astrology, esotericism, alternative medicine, music, collectivism, sustainability, and nature. New Age Spirituality is characterized by an individual approach to spiritual practices and philosophies, while rejecting religious doctrine and dogma. The New Age Movement includes elements of older spiritual and religious traditions ranging from atheism and monotheism through classical pantheism, naturalistic pantheism, and panentheism to polytheism combined with science and Gaia philosophy: particularly archaeoastronomy, astronomy, ecology, environmentalism, the Gaia hypothesis, psychology, and physics. New Age practices and philosophies sometimes draw inspiration from major world religions: Buddhism, Chinese folk religion, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, and Sufism; with particularly strong influences from East Asian religions, Gnosticism, Neopaganism, New Thought, Spiritualism, Theosophy, Universalism, and Western esotericism. Additional phrases which refer to the New Age Movement include All is One and Mind-Body-Spirit. Diverse individuals from around the world practice New Age Spirituality." This New Age Trend has become the single most popular trend simply because they believe in everything and nothing, Do whatever you want "God" won't mind. For the most part many Chritians feel the end is here. We as true followers of Christ need to let the world know of Idolatry and what it really means not just a Golden Calf, but also a false Idea of who God really is. So many people nowaways have made up their own versions of Jesus and God that suits them, and the sad part is they will die with that false God in their heart because it let them do whatever they wanted and they simply ignore the true Word of God so on Judegement shout they will shout "Lord, Lord!" and God will say "Depart from me I never knew you."(Matthew 7)
