Jade - The Gemstone of Love

Jade is a semi precious gemstone which is considered the stone of healing, hope and love. This is an ornamental stone and comes in a variety of colors like red, orange, yellow, green, white, blue, lavender, black, grey, brown and cream. Out of this the most popular jade stones are green and white. Jade is extremely popular as pendants, rings, necklaces and pendants. Other than jewelry jade is also used to make snuff-boxes, cigarette holders, figurines and bowls. This Gem is related to the Zodiac Signs of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Pisces and Libra. This gem is also the ancient Birthstone for those born in the month of May and the anniversary stone associated with the 12th year of marriage. The name of this stone is derived from the Spanish word 'piedra de hijada' meaning stone of the loin. It also means 'precious green stone'.

Jade is said to be a good luck stone and a stone for wealth, love and stability. This stone helps to open up the heart chakra. This stone is also given as gift by lovers as a proof of love and devotion for each other. This stone is also known to attract love and aid in sexual enhancement and fertility. Jade also has the fame of being a protective stone, guarding against accidents and misfortune. This stone is helpful in treating diseases of the kidney, heart and the stomach. Jade is been around for thousands of years. In prehistoric times, this stone is used for making weapons and tools because of its toughness. Jade is found in most places including China, Russia and Myanmar.

Thanks for the hub. Chinese likes jade and almost every Chinese female will own jewellry made of jade. My Chinese amah who took care of me when I was young gave me a jade bangle before she left for China

What you have mentioned is right. I had delebrately left out that Chinese part. In China Jade was known as 'yu' meaning 'royal gem' which speaks for itself the value that the Chinese have for this gem.
