Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is an American screenwriter, director, founder of View Askew Productions, comic book writer, and actor.

As a director, Smith has shot Clerks, Clerks 2, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jersey Girl, and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back.

As an actor, he has played a roll in all of the above movies, except for Jersey Girl.

Smith has even worked with Marvel Comics with Bluntman & Chronic and other comic books within the company.

But anyway, I want to focus on more of Kevin's Smith's stage comedy.

You'd never really expect it, but the man's pretty funny. I mean, he sets himself out as a short, fat man, and that's about it. But in reality, Smith has a low brow sense of humor, I.E. dick and fart jokes. So, you have to find that sort of thing funny, or well, it's just not funny. It's a great low mood booster, as he will definitely keep your mind off of whatever you're thinking about.

Kevin Smith has traveled to various college campuses with the intention of Q & A sessions, but session turned into stand up comedy routines.

Although, Smith doesn't perform regularly like most other comedians, you can his stand routines in "Evening with Kevin Smith" and "Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder."

He offers his humorous opinions about various topics ranging from kids to fellow actors and directors. Smith jokes about bears and cubs in the gay community- not in a malicious sense, but more of a jovial manner.

One of the crowning moments in "Evening With Kevin Smith" is when he recants the tale of his trip to Paisley Park, in order to work on a documentary for the "artist formally known as Prince."

But, Smith does not take the stage alone, he tends to bring on Jason Mewes, also known as Jay from Smith's movies. Together the pair joke about Mewes past drug use and the toilets in Canada. They, also, express their love for our neighbors to the Great White North, Canada.

Now, although, this unseemly man, Smith, and his heterosexual life-mate, Mewes, may not seem of the comedic type on paper, but on screen and in person, they, especially Smith, will keep laughing till the end.

Back on Green Arrow, I got to create a DCU villain. Now I get to create a DCU hero. “The Widening Gyre” is a twelve issue Batman mini-series split into two volumes, with a half year break between each. For me, the best part of the Carnegie Hall gig already happened. It was a quiet moment when I first found out I’d been booked to do my Q&A shtick on that venerable stage, long before the public knew anything about it. That was bliss. I’d never dreamed about playing Carnegie Hall because… well, [...] - 7 months ago
