No one knows exactly where the original lobster roll recipe originated. About everyone agrees that the first lobster roll was probably served somewhere in the New England area of the United States. When the lobster roll recipe was created has a bit more varying opinions, but it is thought to be somewhere between the 1920s and 1970s. If you want to try your hand at this lobster sandwich, here is a fast and easy lobster roll recipe.

Lobster Roll Recipe Ingredients for One Lobster Roll Sandwich

1 cup cooked lobster meat, chopped into chunks

4 tablespoons mayonnaise

3/4 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 cup finely chopped celery

1-2 finely chopped green onions, depending on taste

1 tablespoon dill relish, optional

salt and pepper, to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon each)

Hot dog bun or baguette roll

butter

lettuce leaf, optional

Lobster Roll Recipe Instructions

Mix everything together except the last 3 ingredients and chill.

Before serving, spread butter on the hot dog bun or baguette. Then either toast the bun in a toaster oven or on the stove. You can also broil the bun.

If using lettuce, place the lettuce leaf on the bun.

Next, add the lobster mixture to the hot dog bun.

Your lobster roll recipe is now done and ready to eat.

Suggested side dishes for a lobster roll are fries or chips, coleslaw, and a dill pickle.

Like you said Yummy, When we were crayfishing many years ago I hated (lobster) or crayfish same thing. And we fed it to our dog. What a wast when I look back now.

Yes it was a golden cocker spaniel and she really loved it. They were worth about 40c a kilo to the fishermen in the 60's
