Love, Say It In Another Language
In Love with a Non-English Speaker
It is true that love is universal and even two people who do not speak the same language can be touched by the mischief of cupid. I can assure you it is not easy but it can work, and that is part of the charm of this type of relationship. Be prepared for countless misunderstandings, some of them will cause almighty fights that will put your relationship on the spot, but other misunderstandings will have you laughing and becoming a stronger couple.
If you are in love with a non English speaker and would like to tell your loved one in her own language how much you love her but you don’t speak a word outside ‘mi casa es su casa’ or “vous le vous coucher avec moi?” Don’t worry any more, now you can surprise your other half with a little love declaration using her own language. I have collected for you a couple of all time favourite love songs in Italian, Spanish, French and English.
Je t'aime
Say it in French with Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg-JE T'AIME
Say it in French: Je t'aime
Je t’aime… this is a French song originally written and sang by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot in 1967. But –because of her husband- Bardot requested not to have her version of the song published, so in 1969 the song was released as sung by Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin.
The words are very simple but the song is charged with eroticism. Basically, he says, “I go and I come inside you and I wait” while she says “you come and go and I join you", she asks him to wait and the song finishes with her telling him “ Come now”
This song is to be used at your own risk. I would recommend it ONLY with French people as they are more familiar with these type of “conversations”.
« Je t’aime » the words :
Je t’aime je t’aime, Oh oui je t’aime -
Moi non plus Oh mon amour,
Comme la vague irrésolue Je vais, je vais et je viens Entre tes reins
Je vais et je viens, Entre tes reins Et je me retiens
Je t’aime je t’aime, Oh oui je t’aime Moi non plus, Oh mon amour Tu es la vague, moi l’île nue
Tu vas, tu vas et tu viens, Entre mes reins Tu vas et tu viens, Entre mes reins Et je the rejoins
Love or desire? Say it in French with Enigma's "Mea Culpa"

This is another of my favourite songs in French. Sung by the group Enigma. It talks about desire, about the type of love that drives you mad. It is a confession “Mea culpa” means my fault, I am guilty. What is the singer confessing? Well, she is saying, "I cannot sleep, I want you, take me, I am yours. I want to do all my fantasies with you, I know it is forbidden, I am crazy, I let myself go. I am guilty”
"Mea Culpa", the words:
Je ne dors plus (the time has come)
Je the desire(the time has come)
Prends moi, je suis a toi
Mea culpa
Mea culpa
