Love the sinner, Hate the sin
Are you Defined by your sin?
Are you Defined by your sin?
I believe that all sin occurs when we give into temptation. Every sin is a choice and we make your own choices
For example: I have stolen, lied, had premarital sex and I have a temper. All my sin started as temptation(ie seeing something I wanted but didn't need, Wanting to make a better impression or make myself look good, or just wanting to be love and thinking sex was the only way to feel loved) and when I gave in I sinned. This goes for everything sin including homosexuality.
ALL sins are equal,(excluding blasphemy of the Holy Spirit) but I think what causes so much debate and anger regarding sin especially homosexuality is we as the world have blurred the line so much that anything goes. I know stealing is wrong and a sin, but I don't go around an say I was born a thief, born a liar. I wasn't born that way, but through Jesus I have been able to stop those sinful ways. By choosing to forsake sin and live my life according to God's word. Are we born killers, rapist, thief, liars, homosexual, greedy and/or people love material things more than everything else or do we have circumstance that lead us into temptation then we choose or not choose to give in. Does that mean I'm not tempted? No. I just refused to give in to those temptations. And when I do stumble I am convicted and I repent. And in order to justify our sins we seem to devalued ourselves so low that we compare ourselves animals ie " Dogs do it", "I just can't control myself." or "My physical or instant pleasure beats all" Think about it.(A) Are you defined by your sin? Or are you (B)A Child of God who has sinned, and have been forgiven. I chose to be option B
God loves us, regardless of how far you may have gone astray into sin. He has made all of us in his image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27), and has a special plan for your life. He offers salvation to you if you will come to Him repent of your sin, and trust in Jesus Christ, and follow His will for your life. Jesus paid the penalty for your sin (death) so that you could have peace with God. Something to “world” cannot offer. When you turn away from your sin, God welcomes you back with open arms, just as the father welcomed the wayward son home (Luke 15:11-32).
