We've all seen them. Most of us have read them and a select few have actually written some. An even smaller number of us, like Snoop Dog, have invented new ones.

They're words.

Can you make money online selling used words? Certainly this article would be misnamed if you couldn't. Read on and find out how.

People Need Words

It's virtually impossible to get through a day without some words. Simply reclining on the couch and watching The View will expose you to literally thousands of words, though they may not be complicated or insightful examples of such.

You can't open the newspaper or drive down the street without encountering at least one or more words. Local governments make extensive use of these amazing artifices to tell drivers when to stop, what speed to travel, and whether or not someone is looking for Amber.

Civilized civilizations depend on words, except at McDonald's where you can order food by pointing at a picture.

People Prefer Used Words

Given a choice, almost everyone except Lewis Carroll opts for used words. The market is well established. We do not suggest hiring a salesperson to locate markets for your words. As someone once said in a movie (that also had words in it) "if you write it, they will come."

Try to avoid new words; stick to preowned combinations of letters whenever possible. For example, it's inadvisable to approach a total stranger and say "tdour ruquty plaenby auwerth." Although you may have the best of intentions, a punch in the face is a likely outcome.

You can Exploit the Demand for Used Words

You can make money online by selling used words. More and more people are being born every day; they all want some words. Take advantage of this huge opportunity to provide a much needed service to your fellow humans. Combine some words, put them online, and present them to legions of grateful readers hungry for used words in attractive combinations.

Where Can You Find Used Words

Most people may not realize that words can be reused. They can be combined into new sequences and rearranged into original constructs called sentences. People love sentences, especially short sentences that are simple to deconstruct. As you become more skilled at making money by selling used words online, you can branch out into more complicated sentences including commas, semi-colons, and dangling participles.

A potentially untapped source of used words is called the "dictionary." Before the advent of the Internet, some families kept a copy of a dictionary in their home, referring to it when writing papers for school or for resolving disputes during impromptu spelling bees at the dinner table. These days the dictionary is nearly extinct, but scouring eBay should yield a musty copy or two. Library sales and yard sales are also good opportunities to locate used dictionaries. Don't worry; a used dictionary contains words that are just as good as a new dictionary.

Take the Next Step

You can make money online selling used words. Jump in with all 10 fingers. It's time to become part of the process instead of sitting on the sidelines wondering where all the words come from.

You can do it!

Start slowly. Pick a few words with which you are familiar, like pizza, insurance, and Oprah. Find a quiet place to work, away from critics. Turn off the TV, close the blinds, and put down the Frito's. Select a quality writing device (called a pen or pencil). Start putting those words together!

Pay it Forward

Do not build your fortune on used words without stooping to help those less fortunate. Donate some of your words to worthy causes. Mentor up-and-coming wordsmiths. Correct spelling mistakes on overpasses and public buildings.

Make money online selling used words, but never forget your roots. Always remember the day you fought through writers' block to finish the last paragraph of your wacky motorcycle essay. Cherish your epic struggle to squeeze 653 words out of linoleum flooring.

@psychicdog.net: Please refer to my thesis: most potential customers have no interest in new words. They strongly prefer used words. They also tend to favor used words in combinations with which they are already familiar. Keep your new words in your word tackle box and only yank them out when Lewis Carroll or Snoop Dog stops by for snacks.

You do obviously realise that you're infringing both the copyright and the right of ethical originality of the Monty Python Writers Guild (Inc.) and John Cleese (c) Publishing.

Mr. Cleese, now employed as the armourer for the various and nefarious 007s who come and go under the nomes de gare of "James Bond" could possibly and rightly be offended by you plagiarism.

If he desires persons who may perhaps owe him perceptible favours to discuss your theft of intellectual property I would suggest that you use at least three couples of overly used and well worn words with heartfelt meaning, - One invoking the Deity, another referring to bowel movements, and the last wishing to negate personal involvement.

As always my wisdom (although free) is only in your best interests.

Listen, and if thou perceive, verily thou may learn.

@The Old Firm: As always, your feedback is exhaustive and enlightening. Never to be confused with a personal attack or negative criticism, I welcome your application of used words. You possess a particular perception toward the topic.
