Men Wear Lingerie | Don't Be A Slave To Fashion, Be A Slave To Lingerie

Men who wear women's lingerie face many challenges, not the least of which is the fear (or reality) of cruel jibes from their slavish jockey wearing peers who mistake toeing the unspoken fashion line for true masculinity. If you're a man who wants to wear women's lingerie, I would encourage you to ignore the voices of the mainstream and follow your lingerie passions. Why? Because society can never comprehend just how impermanent it actually is, and nor can we.

For the longest time, people thought that the Earth was flat. Of course, ancient civilizations knew that the Earth was not flat, but the Middle Ages brought with it unprecedented levels of paranoia, fear and anti scientific sentiment. It took many centuries for science to recover from this persecution, and for humanity at large to rediscover the knowledge it had abandoned in the quest for religious zealotry.

How does this relate to men who wear lingerie? It's simple. Men who wear women's  lingerie are marginalized  today for the heinous crime of pursuing an activity which once would not so much have raised an eyebrow, and which no doubt will not raise an eyebrow at some point in the future. Fashion cycles just as society does, swinging from joyful liberation to fear based conservatism.

In Japan men seem to be able to get away with a much broader range of dress in spite of the otherwise strict nature of society. (See above right photo for details.)  In the West, in spite of the much touted focus on freedom, men are much more restricted in terms of what is 'appropriate' dress.

What's my point here? Simply that fashion, and the associated norms are no more constant than the moods of your average PMSing lady (and I can say that because as a woman I have all to often been on the receiving end of a bewildered 'deer in the headlights' sort of look from a man who is regretting not having finished his fallout shelter that month.)

Dressing to suit the fashions of a time, and worse, listening to people who are so short sighted as to believe that the fashions reflect some kind of moral truth, is no recipe for success or happiness. Wear whatever the hell you want men. Fashion trends may be short lived, but so is a human life. You can spend a life time waiting for society to approve of what you want to do, or you can do what you want to do and possibly be recognized as a visionary only after your death.

Live free and happy, beyond mere fashions.
