ADP

ADP: Stands for Average Draft Pick according to ESPN's fantasy draft results.

Most Over Valued Players

These are players who are drafted in the top 5 rounds who on average been drafted higher than they are worth. Some players price tags are too high like purchasing a Walmart t-shirt for one hundred dollars. While others values have not been adjusted and put on sale or discount because of past performances.

Over Priced Quarterbacks

Peyton Manning ADP 16.8

Yes, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He finished 6th overall last year among quarterbacks. But without Dungy Harrison his numbers will take a hit. He will still be a top 10 Quarterback but this is not enough to justify a second round pick.

Actual Value: third round pick

Alternatives: Aaron Rodgers ADP 35

Phillip Rivers ADP 39.5

Kurt Warner ADP 33.2

Good Quarterback, but I would rather draft take the alternatives who finished higher than him last year. Warner’s age makes him an injury concern(He recently had his hip repaired).

Actual Value: fourth round pick

Alternatives: Aaron Rodgers ADP 35

Phillip Rivers ADP 39.5

Tony Romo ADP 43.4

He was a top 10 quarterbacks statistically last year, but finished 12th among fantasy quarterbacks. Also, this year he will be with out star receiver Terrell Owens. I don’t feel Romo who was outside of the top ten quarterbacks last year is worth more than players who were inside the top 10. If he could not crack the top ten last year with Terrell Owens, who is to say he will this season without him.

Actual Value: sixth round pick

Alternatives: Jay Cutler (Number 4) ADP 77.3

Donavon McNabb (Number 7) APD 58.2.

Over Priced Running Backs

Chris Johnson ADP 8.9

He finished last season 11 among running backs. For a guy he once broke 20 carries once last season and was not much of a receiving threat, a first round pick is too high for this speedy sophomore.

Actual Value: Second round pick

Alternatives: Steve Slaton ADP 17.4 second round.

Frank Gore ADP 13.7

The 49ers are not any better than they were last year. Gore rushed over 100 yards only three times last season and seemed to wear down throughout the season.

Actual Value: Fourth round pick

Alternatives: Brandon Jacobs ADP 14.9

Clinton Portis ADP 20.6 Steve Slaton ADP 17.4

Marion Barber ADP 22.3

Barber was once a fantasy beast finishing with 10 plus touchdowns the last two seasons (2006-2007). But after a 2008 collapse I have my doubts. With Felix Jones and Choice fighting for carries Barber’s production will decrease. This is a guy who has never rushed over 1,000 yards in a season! He has slipped into a third round pick. So, if you plan on drafting running backs with your first two picks go ahead and draft Barber as a questionable flex if you must have him. But for those for you that will be drafting differently stay clear of Barber.

Actual Value: Fifth round pick

Alternatives: Brandon Jacobs ADP 14.9

Clinton Portis ADP 20.6 Steve Slaton ADP 17.4

Ronnie Brown ADP 31.2

Brown has only 6 games over 10 fantasy points last season. With reports of Ricky Williams looking good in camp, I do not see Brown being the featured back.

Williams has run well in the preseason averaging 6.5 on 13 carries.

Actual Value: 5th Round pick

Alternatives: Kevin Smith ADP 33.2

Pierre Thomas ADP34.8

Ryan Grant ADP 38.0

Darren McFadden ADP 42.9

McFadden is an unproven fantasy option. He will be sharing carries with Michael Bush and Justin Fargas. Even if he was the lone running back, Oakland does not offer many scoring opportunities.

Actual Value: 13 Round Pick

Alternatives: Derrick Ward ADP 52.1

Jonathan Stewart ADP 58.8

Larry Johnson ADP 59.7

Marshawn Lynch ADP 48.6

He is missing the first 3 games due to suspension. Fred Jackson is filling in the role of starting running back while Lynch serves his suspension. I think Jackson has the talent to take over the starting running back job. Why, not take a top tier tight end like Antonio Gates at ADP 50.0 instead.

Actual Value: Ninth Round

Alternatives: Derrick Ward ADP 52.1

Jonathan Stewart ADP 58.8

Larry Johnson ADP 59.7

Over Priced Wide Recievers

Roy E. Williams ADP 44.2

He was not the number one guy in Detroit nor was he the number one guy in Dallas last year. I can’t justify drafting a guy who has just one 1,000 plus yard season and played only one full 16 game season of football. He is WAY over hyped.

Actual Value: Round 13

Alternatives: Brandon Marshall ADP 43.8

T.J. Houshmandzadeh ADP 44.7

I think that Darren McFadden has the best nickname of them all: Run DMC is awesome, but let's see how he does with the Silver and Bleak in his sophomore year.

Another outstanding job my friend. I wish you well in your fantasy league!

Ouch, I can't agree with Gore being undervalued. I couldnt take portis before Gore. Maybe last year, but that offense will give him 6,000 carries this year. Interesting article though.

Chris Johnson is probably a top 3 fantasy player overall. He's worth any pick.
