Sasha - Border Collie - Male
He was born on 7 February 1994 Richards Bay South-Africa.
He belongs to my daughter who lives in the UK. We have been looking after him for several years now.
He is in his twilight years. He has an unbelievable spirit still for his age. Sasha is on a special low fat diet; we can't exercise him too much, because of his rheumatism. Three years ago he suffered from a terrible ear infection in the one ear, and the one earlobe cartilage was permanently damaged. With the result his one ear lobe is now drooping.
Two years ago he started getting cataracts in both eyes. Now he goes a bit bump in the night but nothing too serious. We have decided not to put him through the trauma of getting it surgically removed. He is the most lovable of all my dogs. And still up there to please his master, despite his age.

His eyes speak to you!
He's gorgeous Annie, Im sorry to hear about his illness, lucky he has a loving family.
Wow, he is so adorable. And he looks so loving and caring. Great Annie! He is surely so happy with your family who take good care of him. (^^,)
Thank you all very much and I apologize for my late thank you! You guys make me feel very proud of my baby
What a beautiful dog. Pets are so much a part of our families. They love us so much how can we help but love them back.
You are so right Suscan, and they love us with a unconditional love. I wish humans could be like that.
What a beautiful dog!!! Off course it is....it's mine. I miss him so much. I'm grateful to my mum who looks after him like nobody can. It is the best home Sasha could ever have. Thank you Mammie!
You know it is a huge pleasure, and he brings me so much joy! Just like you my baby!
I will definitely have a look dizzy thank you very much.
Annalene, your hub regarding your Sasha has really touched my heart. I know the feeling of having a dog who is already in his twilight age and letting go of him is the most dreadful thing to think about but what can we do? It's just natural, I mean, we do need to take good care of them, right? I have my own Border Collie, too. He's still in the prime of his age and always running around. A very hyperactive dog. We also love him very much. Thanks for this wonderful story. He's got lovely eyes as if talking to me when I look at them! I'm sure Sasha is very very very very grateful to have a loving companion like you! (I have tears in my eyes!) By the way, maybe you would love to visit this site: http://www.onlychecks.com/border-collie-checks.htm & i'm sure you would love the idea that you're going to see...

Annalene, he is beautiful, those gentle soulful eyes. Sorry about his ear and rheumatism, but he looks like he is doing well. His coat is lovely. It must be so nice to live near the ocean and take your dogs for a walk on the beach. Lovely article. Love Janice
