My furnace and politicians and celebrities....
The thermometer reads 25 F this bright sunny morning and as I listen to the hum of the furnace I look forward eagerly to the warmer days when it can be turned to "off".
I like saving money that way.
We are hearing almost on a daily basis these days it seems ... from politicians and celebrities who are for some strange reason grouped together as kin. They warn us of the impending doom of our earth if we do not "reform"...... change our way of living ... do as they say.
Well.... it may surprise every one of them to know we have been living the lifestyle they preach on a regular basis our whole lives.... at least since we were old enough to know to turn off the lights upon leaving a room just as our parents taught us to do.
It must be they preach so hard to us because it is something they have never had to do... worry about turning off lights or turning down the thermostat and putting another sweater on or cleaning up the litter from the yard after the raccoons got into the garbage can or check the refrigerator to see if we need milk before running to the bank ... save an extra trip .... guard that gas.
Do they really think we all live as they have and do and will continure to do so????
How many of you fly in private planes to get from A to B ..... have your own private jet .... have four to ten cars of one sort or another in your name... have homes 10,000 to 80,000 square feet big (of course run on green power)?
Those who admonish us have no idea that what they have stumbled upon ... conservation .... has been used by us "lesser" folks ever since day one.
Come on down .. people!

The furnace just kicked off. Good.
Maybe it will warm up today and it will stay off as the sun continues to shine... that same sun which is the ultimate source of every bit of heating on this earth ... of every kind.
