Natural Garden Control
Weeds - Layering wet newspapers around plants and
cover with mulch will keep weeds away. Unlike some gardening plastics
weeds wont grow through newspapers and it is definitely more
environmentally safe.
Ants In Your Yard - Place 1/2 borax and 1/2 sugar mix around ant hills will kill the ants and the queen.
Ants In Your Home - Sprinkling cornmeal around your kitchen baseboards will kill indoor ants.

Slugs/Snails - Putting copper wire in your garden will get rid of snails and slugs. Try Crushed egg shells around your plants will also work for most bugs.
Dandelions - Digging them out as soon as you see them they will not spread. Vinegar is commonly used to supplement your digging plan. Apply it directly to the plants leaves but vinegar only kills the leaves, not the root. Root removal is necessary to prevent more growth.
Compost For Your Garden
Why Use Compost? Composting improves soils water holding capacity and attracts the sun to keep the soil warm.
Things You can Compost - You can compost your kitchen waste,
yard waste, garden waste, coffee grounds and tea
bags.
Size Of Bin? Your bin should be large enough to hold the amount of
waste produced by your family members.
Speed it Up! Although compost decomposes naturally but you can speed it up by turning the pile over once a week and lightly watering it.
