Hotel Provincial in New Orleans, Louisiana
From just a glance at this grand old Hotel you would never guess that it once was a blood spattered confederate hospital. But it is this connection to history that continues to haunt the hotel all these years later. Guests over the years have claimed to walk into their hotel rooms only to find themselfs in a room of blood stained moaning soldiers.
Confederate soldiers and doctors have been observed wandering up and down the halls. In one room a man just walks out of the wall in a torn and tattered confederate uniform. People who have seen him say that when they realize it what is strange is that they only see the upper half of the man.
Building number 5 is supposed to be the most haunted of all the buildings. It was here where the surgery was located and it is here where screams are heard and a young woman walks along crying. It seems that the ghosts are active thru out the hotel but they are most busy in building 5. Organ music is often heard in building 5 but there is no organ there. There has not been since just after the civil war when the organ was given away to a local church.

A Video About The Horror And Hauntings At The Lalaurie Mansion.
THE LALAURIE MANSION , The Scene Of Horror and Hauntings
The Lalaurie Mansion is one of the best known haunted house stories in New Orleans. The story dates back to 1832 when Doctor Louis Lalaurie and his wife Delphine moved into the house. They became well known for the parties they gave at the house and for their great wealth. Their daughters were the best well dressed young ladies in the area. Mrs Lalaurie was considered one of if not the most beautiful ladies in the city. But Mrs Lalaurie had a side that only a few unlucky people saw. She was cold blooded and possibly insane and as time went by their were more and more people who came to know or suspected the truth. The Lalaurie Mansion was attended to by many slaves and Mrs Lalaurie was very cruel to them. And people began to notice that some of the Lalaurie slaves would simply vanish with no explanation of where they went.
And then finally in April of 1834 a bad fire broke out in the kitchen of the Lalaurie Mansion. After the fire was put out the firemen found a horrible secret beyond a secret door that led into the attic. More than a dozen slaves were chained to the walls in a horrible state. Buckets with body parts set around the room. Some slaves were strapped to make shift operating tables and one was in a small cage. Horrible experments had been done to those slaves in the room. Mouths were sewn shut. Body parts had been cut off and sewn onto other slaves. One man barely alive had a hole drilled in his head and a stick had neen used to stir his brains. Police were summoned but the Lalauries fled in their carriage and were never seen in the city again. And no legal action was ever taken against the Lalaurie Family members.
The reports of hauntings started almost at once and have continued down thru the years. For years the house stood empty and their were tales of people who tried staying in the house going insane over night. And it is reported that the house remains haunted today.
