Online Writing Sites...For Filipinos
76I've been writing online for the past 8 months and there are basically three things I have learned. One, that it is very much possible to earn from online writing. Two, unfortunately, some writing sites did not accept me because I am a Filipina (although, admittedly, these sites are few and far between). Three, there are some writing sites that require you to pay fees.
In this hub, I have compiled some online writing sites that are available to Filipino writers worldwide. It is a work in progress as I will add more sites (and links) later on so do check it out once in a while. These sites have helped me and some other Filipino hubbers here make some money and I am sure that they will come in handy to those who want to make an extra something while writing.
Note to the Readers: I haven't really tried all of these writing sites and, except for the first six, I cannot provide assurance that the others are "real" and not scams. The readers are advised to take necessary precautions when dealing with these sites.

The first one is, of course, Hubpages. This is where you get to write to your heart's content and earn some dollars on the aside (through Google Adsense, Amazon.com or eBay). Be warned though, this is not quick money and you may have to wait months or even years before you see your first $100. But if you want a place where you can enhance your writing skills while seeing the writing styles of people from every country around the world and reading great tips, advices and feedbacks, then Hubpages is definitely for you.
This site is for those who like to write about academic stuff such as accounting, finance, legal, computer science, information technology, etc. This site is free, you just need to apply, send a sample of your work and start requesting the projects that you feel is right for you. If your performance is good and you get repeat clients, the writing site will promote you to a premium writer and you can get the writing jobs without having to request for them.
One of the bidding sites available in the Internet. Bidding sites essentially let you bid for the job. There are various skills needed for this bidding site such as programming, writing, administrative, finance and accounting, engineering and even legal. Bid will start at the minimum of $50 (although minimum amounts may vary according to the budget). When you get the job, make sure you communicate regularly with the customer for the deadline and the arrangements. When you finish the job, funds will be released and will be transferred to you.
oDesk.com is another online bidding site where freelance providers can bid for jobs. It is a big site with more than 20,000 providers.
This is another online bidding site where you can find jobs that may be the right "fit" for you.
This is a writing site that is "based on viewership, not on clicks". Another Filipina hubber had joined Bukisa and found out she earned $ faster in Bukisa than in, say, Hubpages. You can check out her hub below.
This is my first addition to this hub. Joining Getafreelancer.com is free plus you won't have to pay for your first 30 bids. There are lots of jobs available in this site plus a lot of the clients here specifically look for Filipinos.

Other Writing Sites:
Some of these sites provide possible sources of income for Filipino writers. Personally, I do not have any experience on them but I am including them here to give more choices and options to the readers. If you have joined them or will join them, please provide feedback here for other readers to read.
Craiglist.com
This one is not exactly a writing site. But you can find writing jobs here and apply for them through email. Here's the site: http://manila.craigslist.com.ph/.
Homebasewriters.com
This site was created in 2006 for Filipino writers. They are now in need of part-time rewriters and article writers. Compensation is stated in peso terms. You can check out their website here.
This one is definitely available for young Filipinos who are still in college but want to write for the extra income or even to suppor their studies. This is based in the Philippines.
That's it, for now. There are still other online writing sites out there just waiting for us to scout them and/or join them. Or you can try blogging. The income is not certain but there are always a lot of possibilities out there plus there are a lot of free blogging sites in the Net. You can also do online research tasks or have your own website where you can write. The Internet is a big place and there is always a place for a good Filipino writer who wants to earn some money online.

Hi Emie, I checked out your hub to see what these websites are. Thanks for sharing them here. I don't think I would have much time to write nowadays though; but if ever I would like to write for other websites (aside from Hubpages and our own website http://www.lovingabundance.com)I'd come back to this page. :)
Thanks for stopping by ripplemaker and feel free to stop by anytime =).
