Golf has been growing very fast for the past 10 years around Portugal. Before this golf "boom" Portugal already had some golf courses which were quite known by golf tourists but only few Portuguese players were playing back then.

Because of its climate and of course the fantastic countryside and its marvellous ocean views Portugal has all the conditions to became one of the most interesting Golf destinations in the world.

I believe that Portugal already have all the conditions to receive every golf player who wish to play in well designed golf courses with good weather in every month of the year and with all the conditions needed (transports, accommodations, alimentation, international events, historic monuments and very welcoming people).

• Oporto Golf Club - 18 holes

  Being considered one of the oldest courses of the Continental Europe, Oporto G.C. was born in 1890 by the hands of British players involved in the business of the Port wine who created an impromptu "link" of nine holes. Only in Portuguese.

• Amarante Golf Club - 18 holes

  The Amarante Golf Club was founded in 1997 and in a very short space of time worked out to an important place in the panorama of the Portuguese Golf. Only in Portuguese.

• Monte Belo Golf - 18 + 9 holes

  Montebelo Golf can be considered nature golfing; it is located ten minutes from Viseu city on a fantastic landscape between two mountains – "Serra da Estrela" and "Serra do Caramulo". It is a 27 hole field with three 18 hole courses.

• Curia Golfe - 9 holes

  Twenty minutes from Coimbra and Aveiro cities the Curia Golf it is the first course in the center region of the country and seeks to assert itself as a new destination for golf and able to appeal to all golfers. Only in Portuguese.

• Aroeira (I & II) - 18 + 18 holes

  Set in a pine wood with several lakes, Herdade da Aroeira is located in a preserved area, 25km from the centre of Lisbon and just 600 meter from the beach. It is the largest housing and golf complex in the Greater Lisbon area.

• Oceanico Old Course – 18 holes

  Situated in the heart of the Vilamoura seaside resort a mere 20-minute drive from Faro airport, this Frank Pennink designed parkland style layout is one of the oldest in the region and renowned all over the golfing world.

• Oceanico Pinhal Golf Course – 18 holes

  This was the second golf course built in Vilamoura and inaugurated in 1976, having originally been designed by Frank Pennink. Several refinements were incorporated over the years, the most significant one by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1985.

• Oceanico Laguna Golf Course – 18 holes

  Eighteen holes skilfully scattered by an area of 620.000 m2, the Cima Course show themselves very competitive with dog-legs to the right and to the left and greens well protected by sand hazards and lakes, particularly holes 16, 17 and 18.

• Quinta do Lago Norte – 18 holes

  All the famous male and female players who have experienced this course, including “Ryder Cup” and “Curtis Cup” team members, have been euphoric in their praise for this course, which will soon take its place among the great European layouts.

• Quinta do Lago Sul – 18 holes

  The favourite of many tour players, this course offers the possibility to hit the greens in regulation in several ways.This course favours the long hitter, but requires the player to pick a particular route to score well.

• San Lorenzo Golf Club – 18 holes

  Located in the Quinta do Lago estate enjoys a reputation for the condition of its course and its attractive views around the lake formed by Ria Formosa. It has been ranked in the past as the second best course in Europe.

• Silves Golf - 18 holes

  Silves is a serene spot, but the course is anything but the proverbial walk in the park. The excellent condition, all year round, is ideal for low scoring.

• Vale da Pinta Golf Course – 18 holes

  The Pinta Course is one of the best-designed courses in Europe. It is a Championship course with an exceptional layout designed by the famous American golf course architect, Ronald Fream, and inaugurated in 1992.

• Vale de Lobo Ocean Golf Course – 18 holes

  The Ocean Golf Course features undulating fairways which run alongside nature reserve, before leading gently down to the shores of the Atlantic. The Ocean Course is composed of two of the original 9-hole golf courses designed by Sir Henry Cotton.

• Vale de Lobo Royal Golf Course – 18 holes

• Vale Milho Golf – 9 holes (with diferent teeing ground for the second round)

  Vale do Milho is a beautiful 9 hole par-3 course, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, close to the village of Carvoeiro. The course is a scaled-down version of a full sized course. If you are a beginner there is no place better to learn how to play golf.

• Vila Sol Golf Resort – 27 holes

  At Vila Sol Golf you will find a fabulous 27-hole golf course designed by the famous architect Donald Steel, which stretches along a wide valley, naturally sculpted by Mother Nature.

• Clube de Golfe do Santo da Serra – 9 + 9 + 9 holes

  The original field was built in 1937 and was later redesigned in 1991 by famed golf architect, Robert Trent Jones. This created a spectacular and completely new field with 27 holes. Only in Portuguese.

• Palheiro Golf – 18 holes

  Palheiro Golf is situated on Madeira Island some 10 km east of Funchal with magnificent views overlooking the town and bay and is set within the stunning 200 year old Palheiro Estate. The 18-hole par 72 course was designed by Cabell Robinson.

• Porto Santo Golf – 18 + 9 (pitch & putt) holes

  The golf course of Porto Santo, inaugurated on 1 October 2004 was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, offers a journey of 18 holes. Only in Portuguese.

• Cedars Golf Course – 18 holes

  The Cedars golf course is as well known as Furnas Golf Course. The course is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of São Miguel, close to the beautiful Furnas Lake one of the largest and most attractive lakes on the island.

• Azalea Golf Course – 27 holes

  The Azalea course as well known as Batalha Golf Course is situated on the north coast of São Miguel, just 10 minutes from the centre of the capital, Ponta Delgada in the Azores Islands of Portugal.

• Club Golf Ilha Terceira – 18 holes

  The Terceira Island Golf Club is located a few kilometres from Angra do Heroísmo and Praia da Vitória, on Terceira Island. It presents some amazing landscapes, with trees, low hills and small lakes, where azaleas and beautiful hydrangeas are seen.
