Portable Battery Operated Handheld Fans
Portable Fans
When the weather is warm and you know that you can't get in the A/C for a while, whether you're at the beach, a ball game, or camping, you can ensure that you get a little cool air by using a portable handheld fan.
These fans come in a variety of colors, shapes, and styles. Some will even blow a light mist of water on you.
Most of the handheld, personal fans are run off of AA batteries, which generally aren't included with the initial purchase of the fan, but it's a small price to pay for personal cooling when you're out in the heat. You can use them at the beach, hunting, at a ball game or other sporting even, camping, on your porch, gardening, and pretty much anywhere as long as you have batteries.
Most of the battery operated cooling fans come in a variety of colors that you can choose from, so that you can pick your favorite color versus get stuck with the average blue or red that you may not be fond of.
The battery operated personal fans have flexible fan blades, making them safe for small fingers that may try to wander in the fan, but you want to be careful of small parts that may pose a choking hazard to young children. It's not a good idea to let your small child play with the handheld fans when unsupervised.
Personal Misting Fan
The battery operated misting fans are even better if you're willing to spend the few extra bucks to get the misting feature. The personal misting fans typically have a more powerful fan so that it has the ability to pump and blow out the water as mist.
The reservoir will generally hold water and ice, so that when you're ready to pump out the water and mist yourself, the water is at least cold versus heated after sitting outside in the sun all day.
The misting fans are great to help releive the hot and humidity that you may suffer while outside, and if you live in the south, the personal misting fans are great options to have.
Choosing a Battery Operated Fan
When you're in the market for a personal fan, whether it be your first battery operated fan or it's a replacement fan for your old one that died, it's a good idea to look around. Now, if this isn't your first portable fan, then you're probably looking for the same brand and model of old faithful that has recently died, but even still it's a good idea that you shop around a bit so that you get the best model.
There are many features that you want to consider, such as:
- How is it operated- batteries or hand pump?
- Does it have a misting feature?
- Is there a shoulder or neck strap?
- Does it come in different colors?
