Pre-lit Artificial Christmas Tree

It used to be a near sin to purchase an artificial Christmas tree for the winter holidays, but now it has become more and more common for families to purchase a fake Christmas tree versus buy a real Christmas tree and have to deal with the sap, needles, and overall tree throughout the season.

Many families find that it is easier to put up an artificial Christmas tree over a real tree, especially if the artificial Christmas tree is prelit.

You can find artificial Christmas trees ranging in size from 3 feet to 12 feet. (Typically the smaller trees are for desks and tables.)

Once you know what height you are looking for, you want to look for a tree that has at least one to two dozen rows of branches. The more rows that the artificial Christmas tree has, the fuller the tree will look when you take it out of the box.

Next, the Christmas tree stand is pretty important. Make sure that the stand is metal and not plastic. Most of the metal stands will have plastic feet on them so not to scratch wood flooring, but if the tree you're looking at doesn't you can always purchase the plastic feet. Just remember that the cheap plastic stands are tipsy and are not the most sturdy, especially if you plan on put on Christmas ornaments on the artificial Christmas tree.

Check the quality of the needles on the tree. You want an artificial Christmas tree that has PE or PVC plastic tipped needles. You can read the box for what materials were used to make the tree.

And, of course the color and the type of tree. Just like there are different types of real Christmas trees, you can find spruce, hawthorn fir, cape may fir, pine, fraser fir, and various other types of artificial Christmas trees. And, of course the color of the tree can be the traditional green or you can find tinsel trees that come in various colors such as black, silver, pink, purple, and blue.
