All About Paris
All About Paris
Not Paris smirking at defeated ships while they sailed away,
But Paris sleeping as night spilled open, ending Troy’s final Day.
Not Paris ridiculed by love, before slain by Romeo,
But faithful Paris at her tomb, where his final breath he did let go.
Not Paris gazing eastward while hope escaped at Dunkirk,
But Paris marching west… ending with each step the Devil’s work.
Like the sea patiently waiting for dark cover to caress the lonely shore,
Nothing is forsaken… wait for the moment, and then wait some more
Pathos is for poets, and would-be dreamers afraid to sleep,
Lose no battle before defeated, give no quarter, do not retreat.
