But the need to wire up a fountain to a bird bath is a lot of work. Many manufacturers have gotten around this by offering solar bird baths. These have a small solar powered pump built into the bird bath itself, and a small photoelectric panel provides the power for the pump to run. Some have the ability to put the element away from the bird bath itself, so that you can put the bird bath in the shade but still have the pump powered by the sun.
