Rhodonite Gemstones

The Rhodonite gemstone is a stone of grace and elegance. The word rhodonite is derived from the Greek word ‘rhodon’ which means rosy. It is a strong feminine stone normally seen in deep pink to mauve color with inclusions of black. However, the stone can also be red, orange, or completely black. The color of this stone is due to the manganese content. Rhodonite is associated with the Zodiac Sign of Taurus, Libra and Scorpio. This stone has a hardness rating of 5.5 - 6.5 and is very popular as jewelry and the carving material.

Rhodonite raises self worth and helps ward off negativity. Like the Rose Quartz Gemstone Rhodonite is a stone of love and helps one to achieve their greatest potential. It is also excellent for stimulation, clearing, and activation of the heart chakra. Wearing or holding this stone promotes relaxation and brings a sense of well-being. It is a calming stone and can ease physical and emotional traumas. It will enhance self-esteem, confidence and the energy levels of both the body and the mind. It will strengthen the immune system and aid the heart. It is a good stone for those recovering from heart attacks, operations accidents etc and facilitate quick recovery and healing of wounds. Rhodonite will also assist the nervous system, thyroid, immune system and pituitary gland.

Rhodonite is found in many places including Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India, Madagascar, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden, England, Russia, Spain, Germany, India, South Africa and the US.
