Sample #5 comes from this Children's Record, thanks to Beatnuts!

Here we are again.  My broken camera was a big loss in terns of progress for Funk Appreciation Month but alas, everything happens for a reason.  My time off from vlogging allowed me to see the big picture a lil' better and should be beneficial to all of us funktual people in the long run.

For you see, I am about to embark on a whole new series that will focus on the world of B-Boy Funk, which I am very psyched about.  It will premier later this month when the editing is complete.  Oh that's right.  Editing.

Stay tuned.  But now for all you funk junkies who have been impatiently waiting for the next series of samples, the moment of bliss.

Just Push Play!

Man, this edition was madd funky! I immediately recognize the Human nature sample from It aint Hard to Tell everytime.

Wasn't that Frisco Disco sampled by Onyx for 'React' off their Shut Em Down album? There's a portion of the beat that sounds like it.

Good stuff.

Props to you Jay! You posted that MIA before I did! I'm just so glad to be back. I actually shot this one at like 8:45 am and I'm completely sober for the first time ever on video!

RE: ONYX - not sure. the-breaks says that LL Cool J "You'll Rock" is the only othe rone but they are often wrong or have omissions. I didn't hear it in LL's song at all so I didn't even list it!

I could be wrong. I couldn't find any info online but let me know what you think.

Hey Man, I can't wait for the next top 10 samples. I'm always kicking on hearing samples in music. It's that addictive "AAAH yes!" feeling after the "where did I here that?" feeling. Keep up doin' the good job.

About the "React" song by ONYX, i'm pretty sure about that's the same frisco sample.

If I can do a couple of suggestions: The Edge by David McCallum and California Soul by Marlena Shaw.

Onyx most certainly used "Frisco Disco" for "React" they even had somebody interpolate the airline announcement. "React" has a pay attention or you'll miss it cameo by 50 Cent as well. 50 was so unknown at the time, he didn't even get special guest billing.

I feel you trizzle, but I gotta tell ya, there is another website I know that does the very thing you are describing. I could do it but I'd be biting on their work, so i stick to the format that I CREATED, no what I mean? Thanks for writing though bro, peace!

Dude I have been searching for alot of these breaks! Thank you very Much!

I DJ as well and I love the orginal Jazz and R&b Tunes, it truly shows the genious and the vision alot of these groups had to make new songs from the original!

I was wondering if you have the break to Brand New Funk, Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff, I have the drums (Bouncy Lady - Pleasure) I want the horns section!

I thought it was Night on bald mountain - Bob James but its not! Let me know!

Keep this moving!

Hey Funktuall - one more for the education of the masses, not sure if it hit over in the USA but search out "Back by Dope Demand" by King Bee (UK rap classic) which is a direct rip of Wiggle Waggle by Herbie Hancock, complete with the tuning bit at the same, I've dropped it many a time and no-one can tell which version you'll be playing - perfect for mixing in and out for top funking...

Peace from the UK

K-Doe  says:

To me, I think most of the "I Get Lifted" samples are from the KC & The Sunshine version - certainly Redhead Kingpin uses this version - give it a listen

No, you are so right! A lot of these were from KC. I have to update this soon!
