Saying Goodbye To An Addiction You Love
Saying Your Goodbye - Can You Do It ?
Goodbye my friend, goodbye mom and dad, sister, brother are the easy things to say, but to say goodbye to your addiction to alcohol is somewhat different and much harder. You, my demons have ruined my life thus far and I will not allow you to continue to destroy anymore of my life or my family and friends ever again.
Saying goodbye to an addiction you love will more than likely be the hardest thing you have ever done in your life. I know it was for me when I threw in the towel and surrendered to my addiction to alcohol.
I had to, so they say, "throw in the towel," because I finally realized that there was no way I was going to beat the demons inside unless I surrendered totally to them. That is exactly what I did and I have never been happier to get rid of that monkey on my back.
Yes, it was a very hard thing to say goodbye to my addiction to alcohol, but if nothing were done I would in the future be say hello to something else, such as declining health and possibly death by my own addiction or death to someone else because of this addiction.
So I asked myself, "do I really want this type of life, if you call an addiction a life at all, or should I change my ways and try to save my own life from the addiction within?
Books on How to Say Goodbye
The Hatred I Have Towards Alcohol
I don't want to sound like drinking alcohol is such a horrible thing because it isn't, only for those like myself that can't handle it. I love alcohol and love to drink it, but for some reason it doesn't love me. Alcohol and my body just don't get along at all. I give my body a few beers and my body keeps asking for more and more until it is all gone or I just pass out. That is no way to live the one and only life we have now is it?
I have a hatred towards alcohol and my addiction to it because I lost so many precious years with my children and wife and will never be able to regain or live those years all over again. They are gone forever all because of a useless, foolish, stupid addiction to alcohol.
So what do you say? Do you want to lose precious years with your family and you own self too because of this senseless and foolish addiction?
Just think how proud you will be to say to yourself and others that you beat your addiction to alcohol and now are clean and sober. I know I am proud as hell of my accomplishments over the last couple of years and I am not a shamed to say I was an alcoholic, but now recovering. If I can do it than anyone can if and only if you have the willpower and the determination to change your life forever. If you have that and positivity in your life than you are good to go finding your sobriety and living clean and sober once again.
So, after all said and done, and going on two years clean and sober, when I think about everything I had done to get to the state of sobriety, it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Sobriety can easy when you put your mind in a positive attitude and continued to tell yourself that you can and you will beat your addiction to alcohol. It worked for me 100% just as planed when i decided to change my life and say goodbye to my addiction to alcohol.
If you are concerned with your life and how you are living it, then I would recommend stopping and think what you are missing out on in life and what you are gaining by being addicted to alcohol. Each time you tilt that bottle or open that can of beer, day in and day out, everyday of the week you are putting one more nail in your coffin and getting more distant from you families and friends.
Just give sobriety a chance. It will never hurt you, it will only help and it WILL change your life forever.
God Bless all those that are struggling with any type of addiction. Give it your all to come clean and sober and you will see just how great life can be living life sober.
