Signs of End Times

Mind-boggling events have occurred for the past months. Natural and man-made disasters alternately confused and displaced people around the world. Many were weakened by such events and more and more are saying that these are the 'signs of end times'.

I'm sure you're aware of the following signs:

• War
• Witchcraft
• New Temple
• Increase of Knowledge
• Mark of the Beast
• Earthquake
• Famine
• Pestilence
• False Messiah
• Distress of Nations
• Israel at War
• One World Government Ruler

It's time to read thoroughly the Holy Bible that prophesied it all, through the Book of Revelations. After all, it's been written millions of years ago based from the dictates of the Supreme Being through His believers and apostles.

People are warned and encourage to repent while there's still time left to do it. After the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and Judgment Time, the fate of mankind will be sealed. Those who follow the good path will be rewarded while those who aren't will be punished. Hell will be their final destination.

This is a chilling truth that we should accept. If we will humble ourselves, there will be renewal of faith between mankind and the Lord Almighty.

What I've written is based from my Christian faith. I'm sure, there are versions of end time interpretations to other world religions, like  Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Protestantism, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal, etc.

Acceptance is the appropriate word in order to overcome confusion that is happening today.

God has many names, Peoples of the world, whether of white, yellow, brown, red or black descent will surrender themselves to Him and leave their fate on that very important date, Judgment Day.

We just don't know when. In God's time, it will be revealed and we are given some indicators that the time is near or is happening now in our generation.

As a writer, I used to read many books, both fiction and nonfiction for added knowledge and information. Eight years ago, I bought a very intriguing nonfiction book from Wal-Mart, Savannah, Georgia. The title is “Are We Living in the END TIMES?” (Current Event Foretold… And What They Mean). The authors are Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, both are famous for their best-selling LEFT BEHIND series that turned into movies.

I began turning the pages of this book just to refresh my mind about prophecies. We all knew that there are many signs of the so-called “end times’ being described in the Holy Bible. I might as well condense it in this hub so that others may know what it means in our lives. With all the advancement in every tangible progress all over the world, many people are forgetting the way to their church to thank the Lord for the blessings they are receiving.

The Beginning of the End

Does the word “end” really mean the vanishing of all living things here on Earth? The word has more deeper and apocalyptic meaning and involves mainly of mankind.

As God’s creation, man has reached the pinnacle of his existence that he become godlike in terms of progress and knowledge in many fields that we could imagine.

It is written in the Holy Bible that when this stage in human civilization comes, it is the times that end-time prophecies will be fulfilled.

Some terms for the “end times” include “the latter days,” “the last times,” “the latter years,” and Daniel the prophet’s favorite term, “the time of the end.”

The Lord started His Olivet discourse (Matthew 24:1-8) by answering His disciples’ question “What will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Jesus often referred to the time as “the end,” or “then shall the end come.”

Study of Signs

A study of “signs” of the end of the age or the return of Jesus Christ should always be taken with a degree of caution. It is not an ordinary thing. Date setters are to be ignored, or better be branded as false teachers. There is always warning of our Lord Himself:

“It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.” (Acts 1:7)

“Of that day and hour no one knows, no, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” (Matthew 24:36)

Signs of Today’s Generation

Gruesome events often flooded them the media as we always see or hear it on the radio, television and newspaper. The degrading values of the world’s society are imminent nowadays. Apostle Paul noted the eighteen characteristics of a society in free fall. These traits are very apparent today.

1. Selfishness: “lovers of themselves”;
2. Covetousness: lovers of money”;
3. Boasters, proud;
4. Blasphemers ;
5. Disobedient to parents;
6. Rebellion;
7. Unthankful;
8. Unholy;
9. Without natural affection;
10. Truce breakers and False accusers;
11. incontinent :”without self-control”;
12. Fierce;
13. Despisers;
14. Traitors;
15. Heady and reckless;
16. High-minded:”arrogant”;
17. Lovers of pleasure;
18. No power with God

The Return of the Days of Noah and Lot

My father seldom goes to church when he was still alive, but always follows the teachings of the Holy Bible by heart. I remember him saying that “end times” will come in this generation but no one knows when the Lord is coming. He used to reiterate that the moral values of the present society will be the indicator of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ (Luke17:26-30).

Our Lord Jesus Christ emphasizes His coming by using the moral climate of the world’s society. If the of the lifestyle of men and women of today’s era paralleled with the moral climate of the days of Noah and of Lot, then it is evident that the “end times” is at hand.
