Snow, a Poem about Beauty, Poetry Rhapsody in White, Snow Angels, Ski Trips and beautiful Snowy Castles.
Pure Perfection
White Inspiration
On my way to my Writing Group held at the local Library, it started to snow. The blinding beauty of the swirling snowstorm caught my attention so that I could not concentrate on our leader's call to write on a specific subject. Instead I wrote a poem inspired by the beauty of the developing scene. The dirty parking lot was coated in pure white and the trees were similarly draped. A very dull scene was transported into total beauty. A strange hush engulfed us as if we were suddenly made deaf. Everything was muted and soft. Even the passing cars made no sound. We had entered a different world.
Strangely the meeting room featured some amazing examples of quilling, a Victorian craft which uses paper tubes like drinking straws. These examples were all of snowflakes in intricate detail. A further inspiration.
Here is my poem. I hope you enjoy it and can visualize the peaceful scene.
Snow
Snow, let it blow
Let it come and deck our scene
Let it cover,let it show
Where every one has been.
White and soft, white and clean
We look and see the perfect dream
Let it cover to be seen
Our newborn landscape flows like cream.
White and cold, for the bold
To slide and ski and make a mould
Snow Angels tell of children's joys
Snow men rise like giant toys.
Crisp and clean the trees take shape
Beautiful with their pure white drape
The landscape in its Sunday best
The earth lies silently at rest.
