As far as the election is concerned. The worst thing that can happen is that nation will collaspse and we'll all lose everything. So what? Psalm 146:3 says: "Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save."
I don't think that will happen. It's not what I want, but it could, since all that ever really lasts is Faith, Hope and Love. God already knew this, so it will be OK.
When the prophet Habakkuk saw that God was going to punish ancient Israel for their sins by sending an even more sinful nation to capture them, he was also shocked and terrified, and cried out to God about how unfair that was and how he didn't understand it, but then he said ... "I will stand on the wall and wait to see what the LORD tells me." Then God explained His plan. And how although it would be bad for a while, very bad, in the end, it would be better.
So then Habakkuk said, "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. "
Since we know the media is biased, and we know the polsters are biased, I don't really think it's as bad as it seems, but even if it is ... even if Barack Obama becomes president, and the democrats destroy this nation ... which I don't think will happen, but even if it does ... Jesus is still King. God is still good, and I will rejoice in who God is. Even if Barack Obama really is the antichrist, I follow the real Christ. As a Bill Johnson says often, "Don't worry what hand you're dealt, God can win with a pair of twos."
If you are a Christian and the thought of Barack Obama becoming president of the United States frightens you, then you need to think about this... 2 Tim 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Consdider this, are you really afraid of Obama? Is He more powerful than God? Don't fear any man. Don't fear any government. "Fear God and honor the king."
When you pray before you go to vote, don't ask God what sins of the nation need to be purged, ask Him what you need to do to be more like Jesus. Then trust Him. Don't worry and don't get angry. God's got it covered.

You're welcome and I understand your concerns. Please don't think I LIKE him, I don't. I don't trust him either. And I certainly didn't VOTE for him! But, as I prayed about it, I remembered that when Paul wrote, in Romans 13.:
"1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves."
NERO was in charge. Now, as bad as I don't trust Obama, I don't think he'll be as bad as Nero. But even if he is ... I trust God more. God was bigger than Nero, He's bigger than Obama. It's time to be in humble prayer before God.
Great hub and message you are right on...our God has not fallen of his throne and weather Obama is or is not the anti...it makes no difference to us because we know whom we serve...to be honest i,m actually excited with all the current events .The heat is being turned up and the dross is rising to the top...we serve a mighty God and he has give us the most powerful force in the universe is unconditional wonderful agape love and the awesome mighty power of the holy spirit and the best part is the battle belongs to our king the alpha and omega!!!!!

I don't think Obama is the anti-christ, I do believe he will guide the nation in the right direction even though some of his beliefs are against the Bible.

I think you explain well the difference between fatalism (the feeling that it just doesn't matter) and our need as children of God to accept His will in all things and realize that we are in His hands. No mortal can really provide safety and security for us--whether they are the president or our neighboor.

First of all anti-christ is one who denies that Christ has come in the flesh. Anyone that has read their bible should know that. President Obama, has professed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. (IN Islam a statement like this is punishable by death). This should kill two birds with one stone. Anti-Christ is not a particular individual. According to scripture "...even now are there many anti-christs; whereby we know that it is the last time. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-christ, that denieth the Father and the son." IJn.2:18,22.
Scripture also says that anti-christ will be a Christian pretender jm. It is not what one says that matters, but rather what one does. Obama mocks Christians, mocks the bible, and is anti-semitic. No I don't think he is a Christian. Nor have I ever heard Obama profess Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. Please visit my article on the End Time Invasion and get a different view.

Its makes a big deal if he is the anti-christ, the devil for pets sake. I read alot of things on the web about him, didn't like any of it. Its my opinion, so much for our freedom, right to bare arms and freedom of speech. We will lose everything. Maybe some people don't care I do, he said, goverment can't help the world fix anything. he might not be ablt to get anything done. broken promises.
