Starbucks Via instant coffee is by far one of the best types of instant coffee that I have ever tasted. Now granted I do not typically drink coffee very often because of some medical issues, but I tried the taste sample of the Starbucks Via instant coffee because the normal barista that works at my local Starbucks asked me to sample it. While I must admit I was skeptical at first about how good an instant coffee could actually taste when compared to normal drip coffee, but I was actually quite surprised as how good the Starbucks Via instant coffee taste and must say that I cannot wait until the Decaf version becomes available. Even though I am not a huge coffee drinker I used to drink coffee all the time and here is what I thought of the Starbucks Via instant coffee.

The first thing that I noticed about drinking the Starbucks Via is that it doesn't taste like some of the other brands of instant coffee that I have drunk in the past. However, because it does come in a package that says that it is instant coffee you can easily tell that it is still instant coffee. The taste of the Starbucks Via though doesn't taste any different than if I had purchased a coffee from coffee machine that they have set up that brews fresh coffee all day long. So the taste of the Starbucks Via gets very high marks from me and if you have a chance to heat up some milk like my husband does then you will really be able to have a great tasting coffee that taste very similar to some of the drinks that are available.

The second thing that I noticed with the Starbucks Via is that some of the instant coffees do not dissolve that well and your standing there for what seems like hours stirring with the Starbucks Via I usually only have to stir for a few seconds and it is mixed in really well already without the worry of having the extra grittiness of instant coffee that I have found can occur while drinking instant coffee. So being able to stir in the instant coffee with confidence that I will not find the chewy gritty surprise at the end of my cup is a great relief.

The one drawback that you might consider is the cost of the Starbucks Via which can be somewhat pricey for this being an instant coffee. The cost though if you buy the large packs is not as bad as the smaller cost because you get more coffee than you would from the smaller packages for a larger per unit price. The taste alone though for the Starbucks Via is definitely what you would expect to have from a company such as Starbucks and is well worth the cost.

While Starbucks did a taste test for the Starbucks Via that I participated in I know that my husband is hooked on the Starbucks Via and enjoys the ability to make coffee at any time of day anywhere that he is as long as he is able to find hot water or hot milk. Even though the cost of the Starbucks Via might be a deterrent to some people you will want to try it out because if you are a coffee drinker of any type you will probably agree that Starbucks Via is a great instant coffee to drink at anytime day or night.
