Stereotypical
62Stereotyping has always existed. It seems there are many ways to get a bad reputation. Somethings that use to be considered good, are now, culturally, thought of to be evil. They have become 'evil' because some have chosen to misuse the label, and be evil, while baring a name they do not deserve!
I often find myself confused as to how to label things, others and even myself.
Let me explain:
I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ was the Messiah, and that He not only walked this earth, living a sinless life, but that He also was crucified, buried and overcame death three days later. My job as a Christian is to live like Christ did, to love others and to reflect God to them. My life is to be a worship of God.
I am a conservative, in the most literal sense. I don't spend needlessly. My wants are not out of control. I don't think anyone owes me, or anyone else, anything. I think government should be small, that people should live free from tyranny and excessive regulations. The biggest job of the government is to maintain a strong army, for the reason of securing our boarders, not taking war to the world. Furthermore, I love this country that I was born and raised in! I believe that it is a great country, because of the founding principles.
I am frugal, I believe in making the most of everything I have. "Use it up, wear it out, make do or do with out," was around long before "Reduce. Reuse. Recycle." Buying efficiently and composting have been a way of life as long as I can remember. Taking only as much as you truly needed was another standard -- it applied at potlucks, gathering firewood, hunting, and many other things. It is simply good stewardship.
I am polite. Rudeness, weather in the form of not returning phone calls or leaving messes are things I was raised not to do. Cleaning up after oneself is not difficult, and leaving a place looking like it ought to was always standard.
I do not understand, why those who share my convictions, have been labeled Enemies of the State.
The Event in Colorado
The Inaugeration Mess
Just an Example
I grew up in Colorado, and though I do not remember much of the news broadcasts my father loved to watch, one did catch my attention. A man named Rush Limbaugh had been to Ft. Collins, CO, and there a huge crowd had gathered for some sort of rally. The news headline was all about how clean the area had been left. How there was very little for the city janitors to clean up.
"It was an extraordinarily well-behaved group. Every city official and police officer commented on it. There was not a single incident of vandalism nor a single arrest. There was no clean up problem; most litter was neatly centralized around overflowing dumpsters. Later reports said the clean-up crew was completely finished by 6 p.m., a record two hours after the advertised end of the event."
-Dan’s Bake Sale and Rush Limbaugh – 16 Years Ago Today
It was confusing to me, why this would be news worthy, until I saw the aftermath of Obama's Presidential Inauguration.
Remind me once more, why conservatives are considered non-green...
In the course of my life, I have often had to eat my words, and I must confess that I have always found it a wholesome diet. -Winston Churchill
Of course, not all stereotyping is harmful. Some of it is funny, so, to end on a lighter note, here are some jokes for you to enjoy.
Women
'Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.'
So - if you give her crap, you will receive more shit than any one human being can handle!

The Misuse of Words
Service*
I was confused when I heard the word 'service' used with these agencies.
Internal Revenue 'Service'
U.S. Postal 'Service'
Telephone 'Service'
Cable TV 'Service'
Civil 'Service'
State, City, County & Public 'Service'
Customer 'Service'
This is not what I thought 'service' meant.
But today, I overheard two farmers talking,
And one of them said he had hired a bull to
'service' a few cows.
BAM!!! It all came into focus.
Now I understand what all those
Agencies are doing to us.
Now you are as enlightened as I am.

Thank you so much Vladimir.
I think you have a fine lifestyle described here based on a sound world view. Bully for you! Thanks for sharing.
James, Thank you for the encouragement.
You are unique but you are you and you is a lady I love loads !
Thanks BC (wiping away a tear and smiling), you are a wonderful person yourself.
Ivorwen,
I enjoyed this view through your perspectives and I applaud the connections you have made here that routinely go unnoticed.I have an idea why you and people with our point of view have been stereotyped, categorised and placed on watchlist,we are a threat to the current form of government, regardless of which party comes into power. From what you said in your hub about the military being used to protect the country and not fight wars abroad, you strike me as a classical liberal and that is what true conservatives are!We are truly being "serviced" in the way that the farmers described and it's good to know that other people are noticing.
Mindless Brute: Thank you for your insightful comment. I think many are noticing what is going on. My hope is that a change can be made, before everything worth having is lost.
