Stop the Senseless War
63Are we programmed to hate, maim, and kill each other? Is it even remotely possible that we could coexist on the surface of this planet without war?
In this supposedly enlightened age it seems rather barbaric for America to be involved in a conflict in which the enemy engages in suicide bombing of their own national centres of business, commerce and government. I am talking about the asymmetrical wars in Middle east, namely in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Every time I look at Yahoo News when I click Yahoo I wonder about the innocent victims who were in the streets, on the buses, or in the markets.
War is so senseless. Yet the developed nations keep on making guns and bombs. Can we find a more enlightened, more peaceful approach to solving conflicts in this post-modern global village?
Why are we fighting?
Is it religion? We are all children of one God. Put the clerics and theologians into a room to talk about it till kingdom come. While the rest of us worship in our churches, mosques and synagogues until God of all of us lead us kindly into a brighter light.
Is it oil? Well I have news for the combatants. The oil will run out one day. So you might as well make peace and join in the search for alternative energy.
Is it the need to enslave humanity to a one world government? All I will say about that one is that in the end Jesus wins, so you might as well flip the pages to the back of the book and realise that no earthly government can go up against the divine Hand of God.
Could it be even more sinister? Are we destroying each other to provide business for the military-industrial barons? Defeat these vampires by making peace with all creation.
Why are we really fighting? The truth is we are fighting for all four reasons in a complex and deep matrix. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.
