Story of HubPages Part Two
65A few of my personal favorite Hubs
- My Vulcan Dream
This is a great Hub that is heartfelt, well written, and touching. Vulcans are great. - and for Hub 100 - Hub Junkies
Even though he shot me, he brought me back:) Drax has been #1 or close to it for awhile and we love to see his poems daily. - Jaguar Cars
We also hoped people would point people to the information they found useful on a topic. This is a great one on Jaguar Cars. - Get Started Knitting
When I envisioned HubPages, we hoped that people would share their passion and expertise. It would be a guide and recommend products. Sort of like an influential tastemaker.
San Francisco Days
On August 15th, shortly after HubPages was opened to the public (August 5th, 2006), we moved out of the Berkeley garage. We now have new digs at 95 Minna Street in San Francisco. The new office came with built in desks, so all we had to do was move our chairs and computers and we were up and running in our new office.
In September, we hired our first two employees. Jason Menayan and Tom Schirmer. Jason runs marketing and Tom is our third engineer. We'll most likely remain small for the foreseeable future.
Although we are in a new place and a couple new people, things mostly remain the same. We drink lots of coffee and eat together almost every day.
Our big focus is improving the site, driving more traffic and finding people to create high quality Hubs. Drax, on the 75th day of the site published his 100th Hub. He's the first person to reach a status of "All Star". This means he has 100 Hubs and an author HubScore over 75. Will Drax be the first person to reach the "Hall of Fame"?
So, what's next? We are hard at work on new features. Many new things will be released before the year is out and we will continually work to make it better. If you would like to help, you can. Just take your personal expertise and turn it into a Hub.
Couldn't have gotten this far without my family and Hummer Winblad:)
Hubs from my family
- Keep 'em Cute
Even though he doesn't really have a tattoo, Cam is the family comic. I was a bit surprised when my father laughed at his Hubs. It could have easily gone the other way. Cam is one of the most popular authors on HubPages with a wacky sense of humor - Music Theory- Part 1
James, my youngest brother does more than make a few Hubs. He helped a ton on lots of little things as I was working on the plan. James Rocks! - Jeep CJ
Mark, my oldest brother chipped in and helped me on a few others. This one needs some work, but it's a start. - Bavaria, Germany
My sister-in-law Monique got in the action with this Hub on Bavaria. She's German and even speaks it to her son. Thanks Moe. - Grammar Mishaps: Who vs. Whom
My wife Robin is my favorite Hub author, although she is awfully picky about my use of grammar. - The Karcher Power Washer-- A Girls Best Friend
Even my mother has made a few Hubs. She's learning how to use the tool and I suspect that she will be rolling the Hubs in soon. - LG SteamWasher
My father has lots of unusual hobbies. From Ironrite irons to Julie Andrews. He's perfect for HubPages.

Ask Paul HubPages Questions
Paul, I had a feeling I'd regret bringing you back.. but seriously.. thank you and all the team for Hubpages (and the mention). I think it's a fantastic product, intuitive to use and with a minimal learning curve. It is a perfect example of how the balance of power is shifting away from the mega media companies ..to Hubpages Success ...Slainte !

Thanks Drax and Jimmy.
Do you ever feel like you are married to an English teacher? Mine would roll over in their graves if they see all the atrocities I commit.
I'm addicted to Hubpages. Someone stop me before I hub again.
Will there be a Members Helping Members section?
Yes, we are working on some help forums. You can also email team <at> hubpages . com with questions. I check them at least twice a day.
I just noticed Jimmy had made the Hall of Fame. Is there a list somewhere so I can see who else is in the Hall of Fame?
It's just Jimmy for now, but we are working on a view so you can see everyone who's in.
