Story of HubPages Part Two
A few of my personal favorite Hubs
- and for Hub 100 - Hub Junkies
Even though he shot me, he brought me back:) Drax has been #1 or close to it for awhile and we love to see his poems daily.
San Francisco Days
On August 15th, shortly after HubPages was opened to the public (August 5th, 2006), we moved out of the Berkeley garage. We now have new digs at 95 Minna Street in San Francisco. The new office came with built in desks, so all we had to do was move our chairs and computers and we were up and running in our new office.
In September, we hired our first two employees. Jason Menayan and Tom Schirmer. Jason runs marketing and Tom is our third engineer. We'll most likely remain small for the foreseeable future.
Although we are in a new place and a couple new people, things mostly remain the same. We drink lots of coffee and eat together almost every day.
Our big focus is improving the site, driving more traffic and finding people to create high quality Hubs. Drax, on the 75th day of the site published his 100th Hub. He's the first person to reach a status of "All Star". This means he has 100 Hubs and an author HubScore over 75. Will Drax be the first person to reach the "Hall of Fame"?
So, what's next? We are hard at work on new features. Many new things will be released before the year is out and we will continually work to make it better. If you would like to help, you can. Just take your personal expertise and turn it into a Hub.
Couldn't have gotten this far without my family and Hummer Winblad:)
Hubs from my family
- Grammar Mishaps: Who vs. Whom
My wife Robin is my favorite Hub author, although she is awfully picky about my use of grammar. - The Karcher Power Washer-- A Girls Best Friend
Even my mother has made a few Hubs. She's learning how to use the tool and I suspect that she will be rolling the Hubs in soon.
