San Francisco Days

On August 15th, shortly after HubPages was opened to the public (August 5th, 2006), we moved out of the Berkeley garage. We now have new digs at 95 Minna Street in San Francisco. The new office came with built in desks, so all we had to do was move our chairs and computers and we were up and running in our new office.

In September, we hired our first two employees. Jason Menayan and Tom Schirmer. Jason runs marketing and Tom is our third engineer. We'll most likely remain small for the foreseeable future.

Although we are in a new place and a couple new people, things mostly remain the same. We drink lots of coffee and eat together almost every day.

Our big focus is improving the site, driving more traffic and finding people to create high quality Hubs. Drax, on the 75th day of the site published his 100th Hub. He's the first person to reach a status of "All Star". This means he has 100 Hubs and an author HubScore over 75. Will Drax be the first person to reach the "Hall of Fame"?

So, what's next? We are hard at work on new features. Many new things will be released before the year is out and we will continually work to make it better. If you would like to help, you can. Just take your personal expertise and turn it into a Hub.

Couldn't have gotten this far without my family and Hummer Winblad:)

Starting a company takes a lot of work. I have two small children and I get a ton of support from my wife Robin, my parents and my brothers (some more than others). I'm still waiting for Alex and George to make a Hub:)

Paul, I had a feeling I'd regret bringing you back.. but seriously.. thank you and all the team for Hubpages (and the mention). I think it's a fantastic product, intuitive to use and with a minimal learning curve. It is a perfect example of how the balance of power is shifting away from the mega media companies ..to Hubpages Success ...Slainte !

Do you ever feel like you are married to an English teacher? Mine would roll over in their graves if they see all the atrocities I commit.

I'm addicted to Hubpages. Someone stop me before I hub again.

Yes, we are working on some help forums. You can also email team <at> hubpages . com with questions. I check them at least twice a day.

I just noticed Jimmy had made the Hall of Fame. Is there a list somewhere so I can see who else is in the Hall of Fame?

It's just Jimmy for now, but we are working on a view so you can see everyone who's in.

Wow this is my first day discovering Hub and I am excited. So I going to be patient and learn the in and outs of this brainchild as I embrace this literary adventure.
