The Mindset For Starting A Successful Internet Business

Updated on January 6, 2015

Is Your Mindset Right?

How much do you think the right mindset plays in success?

That's almost a silly question if it were not for the fact that a lot of people ignore this factor.

They will learn all the technical jargon, but they allow negativity to infect their mind and this is a game stopper. Here's the quote I like to quote - "I can accept failure but I can't accept not trying".

The biggest enemy we have to struggle with is "fear," the fear of failing. To overcome this fear you have to adopt or develop the right mindset.

Do You Care What Others Think?

How strongly are you affected by what other people think about you?

The first step in this process is filtering what you hear. There is value in what others think, but this depends on who's doing the talking.

Some people offer constructive opinions and some don't. You must learn to filer these opinions and carefully use them to improve your mindset.

If you have the intention of making it in this business, you better do a mindset check-up. Here is your check list:

  • I am highly motivated and desire to do this
  • I am not normal (in the sense of working a job forever)
  • I recognize there is a lot to learn
  • I am worth a lot more than what I'm making
  • I know this is a process and not an overnight get rich plan
  • I'll have to give up some things
  • I am at the point where I can see realistic possibilities

This is the mindset you need to have to start your Internet business.

Think about this "your future is determined by what your think". How about this one "your attitude determines your altitude."

Which ever saying your pick they all mean the same - your mindset plays a big factor in your determination and success.

You will get the naysayers who think It's fate that creates your future, to a degree this could be true but more often than not it's "how you think."

Random events can alter your future and death can end your future, but what you think will pave your future. The people who think it's fate, well guess what, for them it will be because that's what they think.

What's Your Motivating Factor?

What is it that motivated you to start thinking about an internet business?

For most people its' money and freedom - financial freedom. The definition of financial freedom is different for each of us. It's really all relative to what you think and what you have grown up with.

If you have grown up in a modest household, then a million dollars probably represents financial freedom. If you grew up in a wealthy household, then maybe 10 million dollars represents financial freedom. What's important is that you have a goal of what financial freedom means to you.

The "quit rate" in this business is around 93%, and you might ask why?

The reason is...wrong expectations.

One of the unfortunate things you see in this business is marketing ads that tempt the newbie. Seeing ads for "quick profits" or "Internet riches in 2 weeks" puts the newbie in a frame of mind that ends up in big disappointments and eventually they quit.

You can avoid this problem if you just take a moment and think to yourself "If this were that easy, then why isn't everybody doing it?", then your conclusion should be "it isn't that easy."

What Do You Think?

Do you think you have what it takes to start a successful Internet Business? Do you have enough good information to try? Are you afraid to fail?

If you think of failing as a learning experience, then you have the mindset for success.

Stop Listening To Negative Thinkers

If you are serious about this business, then get away from negative thinkers.

This factor we have to be blunt about - you have to remain focused and negative thinking detracts from your objective..

Years ago I worked in a office environment where gossip and negative conversations would drive you crazy. I wasn't to up on this mindset thing and fell right into the trap.

When you allow these things you hear all day permeate into the night you mind becomes polluted, this is not a good thing if you are trying to be successful.

Changing Your Mind Can Change Your Future

People change their minds all the time, it's a choice.

You hear people say "that guy will never change" if that guy listens and believes this, then guess what? He will never change.

You control what you think and you are responsible to filter in or out what benefits you. Don't blame anyone else, you are in control.

Be aware - your success is influenced by how you think, set your mind to where you want to be and start doing it. When you keep trying, good things start to happen.

Funny how that works...isn't it?
