Syphilis also called the Imitator"

We don't hear a lot about syphilis anymore because we have an antibiotic cure for it. Syphilis is another sexually transmitted disease like aids, I think Syphilis is the sister to aids. Both of these diseases can, and will kill you if you don't medical help. Aids will kill you faster than the syphilis disease. The Syphlis disease is cause by spirochete bacterium Treponema of transmission of Syphilisis almost always through sexual contact; although there are examples of congenital Syphlis via transmission from the mother to child in utero.

The signs and symptons of Syphlis are numerous, before the advent of serological testing, precise diagnosis was very different. In fact the disease was dubbed the great Imitator because it was often confused with other diseases, particularly in it's tertiary stag. Syphilis can generally be treated with antibiotics, including penicillian.  If left untreated, Syphlis can damage the heart, aorta. brain. eyes and bones. In some cases these effects can be fatal. In 1988 the complete genetic sequence of T.Pllidum was published , which may aid undersanding of the Pathogenesis of Agphilis. Alternative names , the name Syphlis was coined by the Italian and Poet Giolano Fracastoro in his epic noted poem; written in latin ( for Syphlis orFrench Disease).

During the 16th Century , it was called great Pox in order to distinquish it from the Small Pox.  In early stages; the Great Pox produced a rash similar to SmallPox Also know as variola. However, the name is misleading as SmallPox was a far more deadly disease.  History while working at the Rockefeller University in 1913 Hidego Roguch a japanes scientist demostrated the spirochete Treponema Pallidum in the brian of a porgressive paralysis patient proving that trepoenma Pallidum was caused of the disease.

Names of historical personages who contracted the disease, including, Charles VIII of France, Hernando Cortez of Spain, and Ivan the Terrible, Benito MUsselini, Adolf Hitler were alleged to have Syphlis. These also was alleged to have the disease, Guy Maupassant and possibly Fredrick Nietzsche are thought to have been drievn insane and ultimately killed by the disease. Al Capone contracted Syphlis  as a young man, by the time he was incarcerated at Alcatraz, it reached it's third stag; neurosyphlis, leaving him confues and disoriented .  Syphilis lead to the death of the artist  Edouard Manet and and artist Paul Gaugin was said to have suffere from syphilis .

Composers who succumbed to syphilis  included Hugo wolf, Fredrick Delius,Scott Joplin, Gaetano Donizetti and possibly : Fran Shubert and Niccoli Paganinni. mental illness caused by late stag Syphilis was once oneof the more comman forms of dementia .  This was known as general paresis of the insane.  One suspected example of Syphilis was the insanity of noted composer Robert Schuman; althoug the  precise cause of death  has been disputed by scholars. The Russian Author Leo Tolstoy  suffered form syphilis  during his youth, which was treated  using commentary arsenic treatment.

From 1932 - 1972 The U>S> Public Health Service conducted what became known  as the Tuskegee study of untreated Syphlis in negro males ' also known as Syphlis studyof the Tuskegee Experiment. It was a clinical study conducted in TuskegeeAlabamawith nearly 400 por, mostly illiterate African Americam men with syphlisand were deliberatey and systematically deined treatemnt so that reachers could abserve the natural progression of the disease when left untreated.  The contorversey over the unethical behavior of the researcher conducting this study eventually led to  major changes in how patients are protected in clinical studies.

This was without a doubt the most hurting research  I had to endure because of the many African American men that had  suffer and die to prove a point. it was really heart wreching to how our men was used like an animal and nt a human being'mu heart really  goes out to the black men that die for like of attention.

This was very educational creativeone59, and I agree how extremely heartwrenching it was to find out how african american men were used for such debilitating and humilating experiments - as if they were of little or not account. A lot of people are not aware of this research, I only found out about this about a year ago and was appalled by the news.

I did not know about the experiments. . .how disgusting! Leave it to humankind to be crueller than the devil. I recently watched a documentary on a tuberculosis assylum located in Kentucky. The treatment there was unnatural and horrifying. It's amazing what the medical community has done over the years in the name of finding a cure. They are still performing unethical experiments, but now they are not looking for cures just treatments. There's no money in curing.

Anyhow great hub as usual. Have a beautiful day!
