Today it's not difficult to Teach Seniors Basic Computer Skills

Firefox - terrific free software. It's easy to learn. It's very easy to teach seniors basic computer skills with the help of Firefox. It could be very useful for seniors - it does not require remembering a lot of information.

I will go over basic steps that will bring good results and teach seniors to develop basic computer skills. I have a personal computer with Windows operating system. All instructions here are pertinent to Windows.

Create an account with Google. It's my personal favorite search engine. I also need it to use my Firefox bookmarks. You can Google 'Firefox', follow instructions and download it - free. You are interested in downloading the latest version. You will have an icon 'Mozilla Firefox' on your desktop. See the picture of it below on this page. I switched to Firefox after using Internet Explorer for many years. I think that if the Firefox is set up using bookmarks and other helpful features it will not be difficult to teach seniors basic computer skills.

Benefits and useful features of Firefox

High Performance - view websites faster, because Firefox uses less of your computer’s memory, Full Zoom, Image Loading, Session Restore - it's one of the most beneficial features for me. It happened many times. I am typing an email, browser goes down, my email is lost. I spent 30 minutes thinking and typing this message. It can be very frustrating. This situation does not happen now. Firefox has the ability to remember the passwords, it is fully customizable, you can set bookmarks and have instant access to websites that you or your senior parents like most. The bookmarks are managed very easily and can be sorted by date, label and title. The bookmarks can be added and deleted. Just one word on your bookmark - label that you can add, will give you instant access to a website. I happen to like Firefox and I can continue raving about it. Firefox has so many outstanding features. You can read about these features and download it here (click).

I will be happy to answer your questions.

Firefox is easy enough for a littl girl

If I was in your shoes, I would learn Firefox first and then teach the parents computer/internet skills, when major points are set up on their computer. Good luck!
