How To Get Information on Technology
GIGABYTE (tm) Motherboard
Technology Where Are You
Since the purchase of my new computer I have realised how far behind in the computer technology field I had become.
My new computer has a beautiful Gigabyte Motherboard S-Series M61PME-S2 and supports AMD Socket AM2.
The Motherboard has a NVIDIA GeForce 6100/nForce 430 chipset
We have installed a AMD 64 Athlon Processor.
Now if you understand any of the above, you are smarter than me because I don't have a clue on what it all means. I just know that my computer runs a whole lot better than my old unit.
That still does not stop my quest for knowledge about computers and the Internet.
I got to thinking and I feel It's because of the lack of information coming into Australia. In Australia we have Pay TV run by Foxtel and one of the stations on Foxtel is "The How To" channel. There was a nice little 1 hour program on this channel called "Call For Help" which was changed sometime last year to "Lab with Leo" the Host of both show was Leo LaPorte.
In my mind it was very informative and kept us up to date with technology and trends. However, gnash, gnash, the show was chopped from "The How to Channel " due I think due to the fact that the show did not conform to the stations main sponsors in the Real Estate industry.
So at this point of time I am being starved for information. Is there anyone that knows if Leo Laporte is still doing his show or if there is any shows that are similar to "Call for Help"
Please I need a Technology fix. I'll be eternally grateful and I'll even join your Fan club.
Leo Laporte explaining technology
Why We Need Help With Technology
Please have a listen to a telephone conversion between Leo LaPorte and a "call in" listener about her new computer.
I believe it will enhance my point about the lack of information available to we poor computer illiterate people.
Leo has a very pleasant manner and does his best to explain things in the simplest manner so that even non geeks can understand.
There just does not seem to be anyone around at the moment to do the same thing.
If you do want find out anything technical you must already have some degree of technical skills because you have to access the internet and download things like Pod casts and join groups like Twitter and the likes. Its amazing how many people you talk to and they roll their eyes and say " No that's all too hard"
