My Perfect Bedroom
77ABSOLUTELY NOT
No Junk
It has already been proven that most couples who share a beautiful bedroom free of clutter and everyday life has a much more satisfying relationship. A bedroom should be one of solace and ambiance. It should reflect out sensual side. The colors, patterns and textures and smells can keep intimacy intimate, all the time.
Lets face it life will stress you enough, bedtime should be about intimacy, rest, good sleep in that order. How relaxed can we be when our bedroom is full of extra furniture that belonged to Aunt Bee, Loads of laundry to be done, a desk full of junk and bills you don't even want to open. Along with the clutter, reminder of bills, and of course those car parts. Gym equipment is also a non-essential unless it is compact. Your clothes will end up hanging from it anyway. Get all that junk out of your bedroom and let some stress relief in. A TV in your bedroom can have it's advantages and disadvantages. If it is used correctly, entertainment can bring pleasure and relaxation to both partners. That means ball games only if both agree. Don't let it be a distraction.
Music is a must. An evening behind closed doors in a beautiful getaway with Pear Glace' candles from Victoria's and your choice of music whether it's classical, Pink Floyd or Elvis. It sets the tone.
If you are going to redecorate your bedroom, get rid of as much clutter as possible. Those Christmas bags you were saving since last year, shoes you will never wear. The possibilties are endless. Give it to charity, put in the attic or use containers for smaller places.
Never use bold colors, they make the room appear to be smaller and it is not relaxing, choose a neutral color or eggshell. Never Wallpaper your entire bedroom, it draws the focus away from the beauty you surround it with. If you do prefer a bold color as I, use it as an accent.
My Fantasy Bedroom
Most of my adult life i can always remember wanting a black and white bedroom with a splash of red or Victorian Lace.
Lots and lots of candles, especially pear glace'.
Black and white work together like the yin and yang, white seeks for attention while black is aggressive. Throw in a little red for fire, passion.
Here are some pics of my fantasy bedroom, haven't gotten there yet but one day...
Looking for a great bedroom plan
I haven't yet to find a perfect picture of my perfect bedroom, here are some ideas I have been throwing around. I still prefer black and white with a little red.
So, what does your bedroom look like? cluttered or shuttered?

This Hub brought to mind a concept that I was toying with some time in the night. That is we think happiness, contentment or success lies in arriving at some point, the perfect house, job or bedroom. What happens is we strive for what ever we deem necessary and once achieved wonder why we don't feel what we thought we would.
I am convinced that happiness, contentment or success (what ever you dream of) is not a place, status or something to be attained. Rather it is a process of steady moving forward toward our purpose, our fulfillment. Fixing the mind on some specific thing almost guarantees that once we get it we find it did not bring us what we expected or wanted.
I agree that we need to move toward less clutter in our lives - bedroom, den, desk ...everywhere. I also believe that we need to focus more on eliminating things from our lives rather than the constant adding to our lives.
I know this is not a typical reaction, the Hub just struck me as being so relevant to some notion I had in the middle of the night and I wanted to express it.
Thanks John for your thoughts, you may be right you always think tht when you fix the outside you fix the inside right?

I am a big fan of throwing unused things away. However, I am also a fan of getting good deals and saving ahead.
There should be a group called Packrats Anonymous. I would be the queen.
Advisor, me too that is why I want a new bedroom, too many clothes and shoes and just stufffff.

We have a very small bedroom, the smallest non-bathroom in our flat. And all that is in it is a bed, and a small chest of drawers. We keep our clothes etc elsewhere. Our room is painted cream, with white bed linen and blue and white curtains.
sounds cozy! Thanks for stopping by

Very good tips here!!
My perfect bedroom would have to be clinically clean, yet warm and inviting! I love the red and cream style and the black and white room! I would love a house with lots of bedrooms with individual themes and colors..What a sweet dream i hope to become a reality!!
I too would love lots and lots of candle but due to having a kitty, im always worried their tail will catch fire and everything else as my kitty is very clumsy! lol
compu-smart,
I love them all!! I gre up in a big house that mom had decorated completely different, even the hall, she was pretty obsessive about it. She sewed so she made new things all the time.
thnks for dropping by,
dori
bedroom is indeed a nessity ov ma lyf..........
Wow I love this hub!! I'm definitely into interior decorating. One thing alot of people don't know is certain colors you choose to paint your walls can give you either a bad vibe or a good feeling. For example, yellow can give certain people a stressfull vibe. The color green is more of a relaxing color. The color red gives people more of a passionate feeling.
Anything dealing with interior decoration sparks my interest. This was a very interesting hub. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks fastfreta I just wish i could decorate this wasy!
Thanks for stopping by.

Having the perfect bedroom requires the occupants to pick up after themselves for basics! I, for one, can be guilty of letting my running shorts stay on the floor for a few hours.
Thanks for some great ideas, Dori. I also liked what John Chancellor had to say about de-cluttering to de-stress and redirect our energies. Neat comments. Your hub has struck a chord with a lot of us. Well done!
Thanks Red Elf, Where was I when you commented? I agree with John too, he is a wise man,
thanks

If you have a large space, it almost screams at you to fill it up - easy to junk it up then. Better to have a smaller bedroom decorated to be warm and welcoming. No TV, Computers or gym equipment.
Great hub.
