Esoteric Portland: Part 1

Most students of the indoctrination centers we call schools and universities view history as a series of starts and stops, of civilizations rising and falling, conquering and being conquered, and inevitably declining into the past and being replaced by something new. The Sumerians, the Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and so on, all seemingly separate, independent entities, each with their own histories, cultures, belief systems, mythologies, and religions.

The student of the symbology knows that symbols rule the world, and that all past and present civilizations operate under the same symbolic vocabulary. The priest classes, old and new, understood this and have used the universal vocabulary of symbolism to manipulate the minds of the masses below them, for good or ill. Through their influence the symbols of the collective unconscious are manifested into myth, religion, architecture, government, and eventually into the products of Hollywood and Madison Avenue. The masses below know not what to make of the symbology, they think they are getting something new, or at least something unique to their culture, when in reality they are given the same forms of government, the same religions, the same myths, rehashed, and slightly tweaked, as civilizations long gone and considered archaic and primitive.

A walk through downtown Portland reveals that the centers of culture in this city are inundated with the same symbols that have been in use by the ruling class for thousands of years. Modern Portlanders live under the same symbols as our predecessors in ancient Sumer, Babylon, Egypt, and Rome. The knowledge of those ancient priest classes has been passed down through hundreds of generations to the culture creators of our day, through the bloodlines of our rulers and through the manufactured religions and occult societies such as the Freemasons, that surround them. As Phillip K. Dick said, the empire never ended.

It is important to remember that symbols themselves are neither good nor evil, it is only the intention of the symbolic manipulators behind them that can be categorized as such. Symbols are the tools we use to communicate to the subconscious mind in a way that words cannot.

That said, all throughout our society we see symbols that traditionally represented high spiritual ideals used to sell useless and unhealthy products and to inspire blind, irrational patriotism. Through the subversive use of symbolism, we can be unconsciously manipulated towards an end that we might not have normally chosen for ourselves.

In my last blog, "A Solar Deity We Can Believe," I offered an explanation of the symbology and manipulation behind the Barrack Obama presidential campaign, focusing on the aspects of what I called the Solar Savior Archetype. This blog will focus on another archetype that permeates our culture, the Goddess of a thousand names, who is often depicted as the mother of the Solar Savior Archetype.

The lady on the above coin is the Babylonian goddess Semiramis. She is one of the oldest representations of the goddess archetype, known by some occultists as the goddess of ten thousand names. She also goes by Ishtar, Isis, Athena, the Virgin Mary, and in more modern times, where the Freemasons are the most widespread purveyors of national symbolism, she goes by names such as Brittania in Brittain, and Columbia in the United States. Few people, it seems, know very much about our national Goddess Columbia, although her name and image are everywhere. We have the District of Columbia, the Columbia River (which goes through Portland), Columbia Motion Pictures, Columbia Sporting Goods, the space shuttle Columbia, and so on.

In the masonic city of Portland, Columbia (or Ishtar, Isis, Semiramis, et al) is given the name Portlandia, or at least that is the name given to the masses. In reality she is just the local version of the goddess of a thousand names. Portlandia, how original!

She first appeared on the City Seal in 1851, with a six-pointed star above her head and a trident in her right hand.

Here is the Goddess on the side of the Cascades Shopping center on SW 5th avenue, which I have taken to calling the avenue of the Gods because of amount of symbolism that can be found by those with the eyes to see. The plaque identifies her as the Goddess of Commerce, so it makes sense that she would sit on the side of a mall where masses can go spend their money on useless, over-priced garbage. This Goddess of Commerce figure can also be found in Tacoma, Washington, and on the original design for the city seal of Seattle. (They opted to use the profile of Chief Seattle on their seal instead).

Here she is perched above SW 5th avenue on the Portland, above the entrance of the Portland Building. A plaque across the street tells us that Portlandia was crafted in the District of Columbia (big surprise there) and is exactly 1/3 the height of the most famous statue of Ishtar/Isis/Columbia, the Statue of Liberty (crafted by French freemason Frederic Auguste Bartholdi). Clearly there is an intentional, symbolic connection going on here. Notice that she is sitting between two pillars - these are the masonic pillars of Jachin and Boaz, said to have been placed at the door of the Temple of Solomon.

The pillars of Jachin and Boaz can also be seen in Portland on a much larger scale represented by the two highest skyscrapers of the City, the U.S. Bank Building and the Wells Fargo Tower. What a surprise that the two "pillars of the community" would be owned by banks! They are both located on 5th avenue (the avenue of the Gods) and they are 13 blocks apart. The U.S. bank building sits on Burnside street, which forms the border between Downtown, and Old Town/Chinatown. It is here that the street numbers on the North/South running streets start from zero. There are also 13 blocks from the Willamette river waterfront to the I-405 freeway that forms the western border of the downtown area, forming a 13 X 13 block square. The street that forms the southern edge of the square, and borders the Wells Fargo Pillar is... Columbia st.

In numerology, 13 means completion. This makes sense considering the Sun and the Twelve signs of the zodiac, the solar savior and his 12 disciples or twelve labors (Jesus,Horus, Hercules, Mithra, take your pick). There are also the 12 notes of the musical scale, with the 13th being the octave. Any musician knows that when you play a scale, you always resolve on the octave. In this way, the beginning is the end, the alpha is the omega.

The goddess of a thousand names has been with us for the entirety of recorded history, and can be found in just about every culture on earth. Sometimes she can be seen between two pillars. Often times she is one part of a holy trinity such as God, Mary, and Jesus; Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz; Osiris, Isis, and Horus, and so on.

Goddess worship is one of the oldest forms of Religion, and continues to this day in a variety of forms and is practiced consciously and unconsciously. Consider the fact that Columbia's statue sits atop the Capitol building, that the dollar sign ($) may be a sygil for the name Isis, that we crown a Miss America every year, that we idolize celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe and of course, Madonna (Isis/Mary).

To the ancients, and to our collective unconscious, the Goddess represents the sacred feminine aspect of the universe, that which is receptive of the life force, or universal spirit, and which then gives birth to the universe and all its forms. She can be thought of as the personification of nature, the container in which things happen, the mother of us all. She is the unified quantum field which, when energized, produces the wave forms and particles that compose everything around us.

The pillars of Jachin and Boaz symbolize the universal dialectic - life and death, good and evil, (+) and (-), being and not being, knowledge and ignorance, male and female, and so on. The goddess sits between these two pillars, signifying that all that exists in nature is the interplay between these forces.

Now, it is interesting to note that the various orders of Freemasonry are male only institutions, with the exception of the Order of the Eastern Star, which is a female only institution. This might seem strange, considering the apparent veneration they have for the Goddess, in that they are constantly erecting statues and monuments of her all over our cities, and placing her symbols all over their products, signs, and logos.

I would submit that the true nature of the relationship between our ruling class and the Goddess is one of domination and degeneration, rather than veneration. Few would argue that we don't live in a male-dominated society, or that our political, religious, commercial, and academic institutions are not dominated by men. In fact, all of these things are the creation of men, specifically a small group of sociopathic men who use these institutions to dominate the rest of the world.

As I pointed out in "A Solar Deity We Can Believe In," the worship of the masculine, solar aspect of the universe is central to freemasonry. Another aspect which has gone hand in hand with this form of Solar worship, is dominion and domination over nature, i.e. the Goddess.

The very central tenet of the ruling elite, which has led to the greatest destruction and loss of freedom and life, is the idea that they, through their so-called higher faculties of reason, have the right to try to improve nature. Discontented with the idea of allowing life to take a natural course, they feel that they have to bend reality to suit their desires, to serve them.

This is why they continually lie to us, why they manipulate us with their public relations campaigns, propoghanda, and other forms of mind control, why they produce "improvements" on nature such as genetically modified foods, vaccines, chemical additives, mind and health destroying pharmaceuticals, and on and on. This is all done with the overall objective of "improving" us, of altering our minds and bodies into something that is anything but natural.

The greatest freedom we can ever hope to achieve is to live in harmony with the Goddess of nature, with our own inner natures and with the external nature around us. Instead, the sick, twisted individuals that run our societies want the opposite. They are "the empire" that has created the "Black Iron Prison" that Phillip K. Dick wrote of in his books VALIS and THE DIVINE INVASION. Those are the two choices we have before us, the unveiling of the Goddess and the discovery of our true inner nature as divine unity with all things, or the acceptance of the false, unnatural reality they have given us -  the cold, soulless world of the Black Iron Prison.
