The Last Bauxite Train
I have an incomplete painting of this kind of scene. And i dont know if and when I'll finish the painting. I might even take a picture of it and put it here on this hub:
The Last Bauxite Train
Surreal soft hazy phthalocyanine blue
Landscape with hardly any ochre in the sky
Must have been a weeping rainy afternoon
The crossing guard slowly walks the gate ajar
Drivers wait and watch and fume
All expecting the same thing tomorrow
All needing the red asthmatic dust
And the stinking sinusitis mud lake
To poison the land and water
That the wheels of industry
May turn again tomorrow
That the little darlings may learn class
At the private school tomorrow
Slowly the engine accelerates
Past the hill and sky and gate
Nevermore to come this way
The clouds are weeping a softer rain
Goodbye to the last bauxite train
