The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Part 24 Obtaining the Fire and Ice Arrows

Updated on May 21, 2008

After a long video game movie, you learn that you must find two sages, and you must reassemble the piece of the Tri-force.

Your boat will show you two places that you need to go. The first is to the North on Gale Isle and the second is to the South on Headstone Island. Both of them have their obstacles.

About this time, you will see some wiggly mailboxes. There will be a letter marked Cash on Delivery. It will cost about 201 Rupees, but it isn’t spam. Get it, and you will see where the Tri-force things are located. This will come in handy a little later, but you should probably concentrate efforts on finding the sages.

The North has a huge wind that will not allow you get close to the entrance. What you need to do is find the fish around the island, and lay out bait for it. You can buy the bait on this merchant ship that sales around certain islands if you haven’t already. The fish around Gale Island will tell you that the item you need to beat the wind is on Ice Ring Island, and he will give you proper map coordinates.

Unfortunately, going to Ice Ring Island is just as much trouble, since you cannot set foot on the island without freezing your you-know-what off. The fish is also there for you as well. He will tell you to go to a place to get a certain item.

The items in question are the fire and ice arrows, which are also needed to get to Headstone island. In that case, there is a giant stone head blocking the Entrance. Once again, you need to bait and talk to a fish, who tells you where to get the item to move it.

Unfortunately, that item is on Fire Mountain, and you can’t step on it without burning your you-know-what off. Once again, it is good to consult your friendly fish, who will tell you where to go, which will be the place to get the Fire and Ice Arrows from the Fairy.

The problem is getting to the fairy. If you ask the fish, he says that you need to take a ride on a whirlwind. You may notice that there is a whirlwind nearby, and you can use it to ride to the fairy.

All you have to do is ride your boat to the whirlwind, and you will see Cyclos. If you wait long enough, he will transport you to some random place. Don’t let him do that, but rather shoot him with arrows during that transition period.

You will soon learn a new spell called The Ballad of the Gales which you can use to instantaneously transport yourself instantly to a lot of places. The first place you should go to is to the fairy (located exactly where you are) and you can get yourself some fire and ice arrows.
