On its first day of release, the book sold one million copies of hardcover and e-books version in North America and UK. The book also topped the New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover fiction in just a little over a week. It also became the #1 best sellers of Amazon and the Amazon Kindle e-book reader due to the bulk pre-orders.
The Lost Symbol takes place in the hidden tunnels, chambers, and temples of Washington, D.C.; Dan Brown never fails to disappoint audience in giving puzzle-driven thriller. When the HarvardUniversity symbologist Robert Langdon was invited by his mentor Peter Solomon to become speaker in National Statuary Hall at US Capitol, he found some symbols of ancient invitation pointing to the Capitol dome. Peter Solomon who is a 33rd degree mason and head of Smithsonian Institution was kidnapped brutally and the only way to save him is to accept the invitation and solve the puzzles.
Although The Lost Symbol novel of Robert Langdon saga somehow opposes the first two releases, it is still brilliant how Brown keeps the mind thinking about our beliefs. Perhaps due to the huge success of Dan Brown, critics refuse to provide much negative reviews on his novels. Still, readers find new subjects as interesting reads even though it goes against one’s religious beliefs.
So if you enjoyed the first two novels, you will surely enjoy The Lost Symbol.
