The Mindset of The Modern American Liberal and How It Will Impact You

The Modern American Liberal (MAL) functions within a framework of assumptions. At the core of the MAL is the bedrock concept that you as an individual cannot care for yourself as well as the government can care for you. The Modern American Liberal loves you and frets over you constantly, but understands that you are a helpless infant at heart. While this applies to the American, European liberals also generally follow the same thought processes. Filmmakers portray Americans in different ways; in the archetypal American western, people would fend for themselves; much has changed since the rise of the MAL in modern history.

Also referred to as a Progressive or Liberal Democrat, the Modern American Liberal emanates an aura of peace and love toward fellow humans. They encourage and support any activity as long as it doesn't hurt others. They adhere to this credo until they decide the government can do it better, which is pretty much everything except chew your food for you.

Smoking? MAL Henry Waxman (D., California), a bastion of Modern American Liberalism, endeavors to legislate the tobacco industry out of existence. Evidently the individual cannot decide for herself that a cigarette is unsafe. No irony gets lost; abortion should be a choice, smoking should not.

Property Rights? Sorry, a migrating turtle takes precedence over your planned community. "Urban Sprawl" is any dwelling built in the last 100 years.

Public Housing

Public Housing is a hallmark of the Modern American Liberal. It has been determined in the progressive brain that humans are not capable of securing their own shelter. The government is obligated to step in and build human warehouses, stifling the spirit of unfortunate residents who no longer have even the freedom to choose what color to paint their porch.

"You can live here for free because we care about you."

The actual message is more insidious:

"You're not smart enough to earn your own place to live. Please live here for free and eventually you will lose all incentive to care for yourself."

Free School Lunches

The Modern American Liberal actually feels the need to buy lunch for your kid at school. The demeaning nature of their favor is completely lost on them. They configure a system so easy that all you need do is fill out a form, file it in the school office, and your kid eats free. Self-respect takes a back seat to peanut butter and jelly.

At the highest level of Modern American Liberal thought is the germ of an idea that you aren't even capable of feeding your kids during the Summer when school is closed. Their dubious solution involves keeping the school cafeteria open even when classes are not in session, just to provide a heaping helping of soul-crushing fruit cups for your kids.

Building the Dependent Underclass

MAL strategy sneaks up on the less fortunate and shackles them under the guise of care. MAL political leaders understand that a culture of government dependency creates a block of Democrat (not democratic) voters. Citizens live in fear of losing their free house, gratis food, subsidized telephone, cable TV, air conditioning, and transportation. They vote for candidates that promise to perpetuate the government cocoon.
