The Royal Wedding 2011 - Memorabilia and Souvenirs from the wedding day of Prince William and Kate Middleton
The Royal Wedding - 2011
The wedding of the century, the best royal wedding in history... the occasion was hailed all manner of things but to those who tuned in and to those who were there to experience this spectacular event, it was certainly a day to remember.
On April 29th 2011, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, commonly known as 'Kate' Middleton (born 9 January 1982) married her prince charming and the man of her dreams, who also happened to be the Prince of Wales, Prince William - known to some as 'Wills'.
The ceremony, of course, was a grand affair; the Brits really do know how to put on the pomp and pageantry in stunning style!
The couple will now be known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
It truly was a wedding on a grand scale
... millions of flag-toting hopefuls lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the Royal carriage carrying the happy couple and a procession of carriages carrying other notable members of the Royal family and guests, and they waited behind barriers outside Westminster Abbey as the service took place.
Masses also flocked outside the gates of Buckingham Palace following the ceremony to witness the much-awaited 'balcony kiss' ... and they were in luck - they got two smooches! Rather short but very much appreciated and highly photographed nonetheless.
