The Simpsons Game Strategy Guide for the Wii 1: The Land of Chocolate, Part 1
Welcome to a terrific walkthrough for the Simpsons Game. Before we get started, I would like to take the time to make some disclaimers:
First of all, this guide is for the Nintendo Wii version only. I have done some searching on other strategy guides for the Simpsons Game, and I have noticed difference between the hints given. Some of these differences are subtle, but some are huge.
For example, the number of souvenirs (Bottle Caps for Homer, Coupons for Bart, Lisa, and Marge) are different in certain versions of the game such as the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo DS. On the video walkthroughs that I have seen, I have noticed that characters do certain actions that I wasn’t able to do. I also noticed that some of the graphics were very different with more elements than the Wii.
This guide will allow you to find all the aforementioned souvenirs, as well as the bonus Clichés within the game. The souvenirs will be put in Boldface so they will be easier for you to find them if that is the only thing that you are looking for. I will similarly highlight the Clichés for you too. By the way, most of these Coupons and Clichés can be found in any order, with some exceptions as noted.
You will find that it is a lot easier to simply beat a level than it is to find all of the souvenirs. It will not tell you how get through the levels a minimum amount of time, but I did my best to advice about how to keep your characters alive. While it is apparently the goal to win every level with all the coupons, the best time, clichés found, and not deaths along the way, it is fact that some of the clichés in the game cannot be found without the charcters dying.
This game is a lot of fun, and should not be rushed. So, without further ado, here we go. It begins with Homer starts in Chocolate Town, which bears a strong resemblance to footage from one of the Simpsons episodes. All except the portion with the White Chocolate Rabbit, which Homer must follow like Alice or Neo.
Begin by walk over to the edge and press A. You might fall into the chocolate, so always jump as close to the edge as you can. The exact edge of things can be difficult to detect due to the strange camera views of this game. This might be a good time to mention that one of the things I hated about the Simpsons game was the fact that the camera angles did not work the way I wanted them to work most of the time. Every game seems to have some glitch like that.
The jump will bounce you on a marshmallow where you will see another instruction to use the controller to turn the camera around. Apparently, every time you hit the glowing thing, it means something important. Jump again, bounce off the marshmallow, then off the edge to the ledge.
Here you will learn your first appropriately named Video Game Cliché Number 1, the double jump. It is the only way to get to the ledge.
