The Sims 3 Expansion Pack : World Adventures
Just five months after going on sale, the first Sims 3 expansion pack, World Adventures is set to hit stores on November 16. Expanding on the existing Sims 3 world, World Adventures will allow you to take your sims on exotic world adventures in three exciting new locations.
The complete features list is yet to be released, however initial reports from EA state that players will now be able to explore global locations and landmarks in France, Egypt and China. Along with these new destinations will be new skills, personality traits and rewards which expand upon the existing plethora of traits, skills and rewards available in the game.
This is exciting news for Sims 3 fans as many have commented on a lack of useful personality traits in the basic game. Though some traits have a solid and undeniable impact on gameplay (trying to get a mean spirited, grumpy sim to find a partner that can stand them long enough to WooHoo with them is nigh impossible,) other traits, such as 'Vegetarian' and 'Dislikes Art' seem almost entirely useless. Whilst EA makes no claim that these pre existing traits will come into their own when combined with the expansion pack, players can at least hope that new traits which have a real bearing on gameplay will be introduced.
New skills are also an interesting addition, though it depends greatly on how valuable the skill actually is in terms of game play. At present time, it is all too easy to grind level skills and the rewards for doing so are normally fairly lackluster.
In addition to new skills and traits, players will also be able to enjoy new artifacts and styles. This means more ways to create and decorate your Sims homes. Many players are already becoming quite impressive Sims architects, so these additions are likely to be greeted with great joy. The real question here is how much of this content will be made available with the expansion, and how much of it will be on sale in the store. Many players find it irritating that objects and styles which should be in the game are required to be purchased from the store. Given the fact that the new expansion comes with USD $10 worth of credit, it seems likely that the situation is likely to remain unchanged.
