If you're mainly tired when you're exercising but feel fine afterwards:

You could simply be unfit. Your energy levels increase as you participate in regular activity, so keep on exercising and soon you'll feel better. However, it may be possibly that you are anaemic if you look paler, feel light-headed, experience breathlessness while resting or have recently become pregnant. With this type of fatigue, it is advisable to see a doctor if you have dry skin, are sensitive to the cold even when its warm or you're constantly gaining weight without altering your lifestyle. If you have these symptoms, its possible that you have an underactive thyroid. Ask your family to see if the condition is hereditary.

If you feel good while excercising, but tired afterwards:

You may just need to be more active. To achieve this, you could leave the keys at home and walk to work, providing its nearby. However, if your weight is fluctuating, you have trouble sleeping or are experiencing low moods at random intervals, its possible that you are suffering from depression. To combat this, excercise is very effective as it releases endorphins into your bloodstream. You should find that your case will clear itself up if you treat yourself right. However, if the depression persists, you experience panic attacks, anxiety or unpleasant thoughts, it may be time to visit your GP.

If, after you've been active, you feel tired, thirsty and faint:

You could very well be dehydrated. The body's essential systems need water to function, and if you don't get enough of it, you can experience decreased health. Drinking too much tea, coffee and alcohol during the day can also contribute to this. If, in addition, you have cold or flu-like symptoms, you may just be suffering from hayfever, especially if it runs in the family. Many over-the-counter treatments are available for this. You may have a fatigue syndrome caused by a viral infection if you have achy muscles and are feeling tired for a long time after an illness. It is rather common in women, however, your doctor can only provide you with symptom relief.
